when I saw him in that cheque T shirt the other day I thought blimey. Dress down day. Luckily he'd put a suit on for the weigh in lol.
Seems to be putting on a couple of decent little shows, what you'd expect really, start small, build a stable.
Macklin has done well out of the partnership, even though little brother Matthew still seems to be trying to circumnavigate the British scene after 40 odd fights.

I think he's doing ok, he has the support of SKY so that's a big plus - Shame he wasn't around when the olympians turned over.

I suspect he'd have grabbed 1 or 2 of those.

Well I suppose, technically, he did grab one Olympian.

He got £22k according to the papers, a career high purse.

What aspects of promotion are we talikng about here????

I've had the pleasure of reporting on 2 of Hatton's cards and i've found them both enjoyable. The Small/McDonagh farce aside, both shows have contained largely compettive match ups and he also holds some fascinating prospects.

I wish him all the best.

I think jmm will bounce off Hatton, JMM fough a PBF who hadnt been in the ring for two years and was barely even trying and lost, hatton fought him in his prime and went to round 10 without even being allowed to work on the inside.

Hatton the promoter put's on the best shows I have ever been to, a lot of this is down to Ray and Jayne Couch in fairness. The Bristol show was top notch and the Newport show even better. I beleive he lost up to 30k on those shows but he is looking at the bigger picture IMHO. He will get a large following on Hatton TV and then when it takes off fully he will put a small annual subscription fee in and make a few quid. Again only MHO but I feel he puts the boxers best interest before the £££££.

I have also been to one of his amateur shows where they came into the ring with all the Flare of the Pro's, The kids thought they were WORLD CHAMPIONS and the buzz they got was amazing. This gives them the feel for what they could achive and keeps the sport strong.

Well done team Hatton Promotions 8)

He got 12K dont believe whats in the papers and it was nothing to do with HP Danny wanted the fight It was a brave thing to do at 24 hours notice But he had a good learning experience and was well paid Danny is a free agent and is available to box for any promoter

I think he's done a good job he has a good stable of fighters I too was surprised to see him stick Butler in against Barker, having just lost in an English title fight shows he isnt near British level. Apart from that he's done fairly well getting Asikainen over to Britian was good if he can get Sylvester that would be great :TU:

I went to the Wigan show (Small v McDonagh) & the non televised Velodrome show (Brodie v Alexander) & they were both up there with some of the best shows I have been to.
Some very good matchmaking IMO opinion, although in fairness there is 2 sides to this argument if he feeds his fighters tomato cans then he is building their records up, if he matches them tough then it isnt great matchmaking!!
I look forward to more shows from HP although I hope to see no more have the washed up Brodie on the cards.

It was an entertaining fight though it i think his idea was to put someone in there who was going to go for it.

you have got to rememeber no matter who your promoter is , if someone phones last minute and offers big money then your promoter has to tell you about it , as unless they have some bigger pay day up there sleave for you , they have to make you make your own mind up for it. Money talks :TU:

Wouldn't be surprised if he's taking a loss on each show. It takes a while before you start making a profit. Hopefully he's got some smart business minds behind him keeping track of the losses and figuring out how to turn them around.

i think hes doing well got the name the cash the tv coverage etc though small mcdonagh was a stinker as a main event but that happens to all promoters from time to time.Butler took his chance and brodie made the decision to comeback not hatton, who merely gave him a chance against crolla to prove he was the fighter he once was

The only shows they made money on were couches they lost 6k on the newport show, down to the brain box lawyer who was told not to bid tv money. Did not listen but tried to blame everyone else. I bet newport looks the bollocks now compared to all the other shows they have done. Fairplay all hatton fighters get good money around 3k for a four rounder.

aren't media arrangements meant to be terrible, or has that bene sorted now? george kimball and danny flexen both complained about this.
