Gutted that Bute isn't in the 'Super Six' as that is a great result against the (previously) iron-chinned Andrade. Has removed the only 'blemish' of his career to date in considerable style (I know he didn't lose against Andrade first time around but that last round left huge question marks over him).
Whoever comes out on top in the 'Super Six' could end up in a mega-fight with Bute, though that's obviously a long way away... Bute vs Abraham or Bute vs Ward would be fascinating match-ups.
On the same bill Funeka by all accounts gave Guzman a hiding and the result of a draw constituted one of the worst decisions in recent years.
We've talked about the George Bests of boxing elsewhere and surely we now have to add Guzman to that list - what a shocking waste of talent.

Funeka-Guzman was an absolute robbery. Decisions like that really take the enthusiasm out of me.
I had it 117-111 for Funeka and I just can't comprehend how any judge could have it even, that is beyond incompetence.

Everyone who saw the fight on HBO and those 16,500 fans at the Pepsi Coliseum thought Funeka won.
Sad really.

Brief highlights of the Bute finish:

He found room for his counterpunches whilst boxing off the back foot - neither of the knockdown shots looked particurlarly devastating from that brief highlight (esp consdiering Andrade's reputation as one of boxing's toughest hombres) but well done to Bute nontheless.

I'm sure the rest will follow...
Though it is in Wobble-o-vision, & I think you can hear the bloke video-ing it skinning up as he watches it, but still.
Oooh, part two:

bute was sensational - in a clinical, brutally efficient kind of way. he really has improved since the last andrade fight.
reminded me of abraham in a couple of ways. 1) to wipe out an opponent that many feel beat him the first time, 2) to score the knockout in such "cold" fashion, without seeming to get huge weight in the punch, by throwing the shots so accurately and calmly.
winning controversially vs andrade first time, got more ppl talking about bute. many of them were doubters, and if they have followed the rematch, bute will have got many more believers.
2010 could be a great year for super middleweights. 2009 - bute stopping zuniga and andrade, super six stage 1 - has really set the stage.

Then your card was piss poor Guzman clearly won 1,2, 5, 12 and 3,6,7 could have gone either way

I think if anyone drops out, which may happen with Taylor losing two in a row, then Bute may get into the super six.

Aint we the touchy one!
wow so you and the 2 judges scoring it as a draw must be the only ones who watched that fight either live or on the tv/stream to think it was a draw...i think its your card thats the piss poor one.
I've seen some bad decisions in boxing, hell i could even make cases for Mal-Diaz being a close Diaz victory, Holyfield deserving a draw in the first fight with Lewis and Valuev beating Holyfield on jabbbing and activity alone but even if i gave Guzman every benefit i'd still find it hard to give him more then 4 rds, maybe 5 rds at a push but no way 6rds!

Seriously I havent got a problem with 8-4 Funeka in this fight, but 6-6 is no robbery on a 10 point system go and listen to the fight without the sound on with Lederman and the shitty no nothing commentors, watch rounds 1,2,3,6,7,5,12 - and tell me all of those rounds arent potential Guzman rounds. Guzman was getting his ass kicked from 8-11 but thats only 4 rounds of a fight
