Hmmm......Cooney I think is interesting with anybody, but certainly gets beaten by the other three.

Holyfield takes the honors overall, via decision over Norton.

I was reading, and you never know how much of these things are true and that's why I'm suspicious of all the little anecdotes that float about boxers, that Tim Witherspoon was let go as a sparring partner for Gerry Cooney because he made him look silly by slipping all his big right hands and making him fall forward and off balance.

Witherspoon was a special fighter, I'll say that much. But rumors and legend add to more confusion than anything else, so its best to give it no thought. If that be the case, Cooney never would have been able to hit Holmes as much as he did, and argualy he was Holmes best opponent outside Norton.

Is this sort of like one of those "Wrestlemania" sort of things? Put them all in the ring and wait to see what happens?

The Gerry Cooney vrs Joe Bugner was a fight originally scheduled for December.5.1981 at Las Vegas,NV.
That was to be a tuneup fight for Cooney who had been originally scheduled to fight Larry Holmes March.15.1982.
However Cooney tore a muscle in his upper back while training for the Bugner fight.
The Bugner fight was re-schedlued to be an exhibition bout in Westbury,New York for January 1982,
however while training for that exhibition, Cooney aggrivateted his back/left shoulder injury.
Bugner then became a sparring partner for Cooney when he was training for the rescheduled June.11.1982 fight with Holmes.
