JOE DUNBAR has been brought in by Frank Maloney to help with the fitness of his two prized assets, Tony Jeffries and David Price.

Frank and Joe's relationship began back when Frank managed Lennox Lewis. Dunbar was put in charge of the heavyweight champion's fitness program as his sports physiologist.

Joe has worked in all areas of sport including Premier League Soccer Clubs, Tyrell and McClaren Formula One Motor Racing Teams and double Olympic Gold Medal winner, Kelly Holmes.

He now plays a key role in monitoring and maintaining the fitness of the two Olympians at FTM.

Joe told FTM: “I have been involved with the boxers under Frank for a few years now, helping them with the sports science side of things.

“Obviously different fighters require different things and I try to help them with issues such as making the weight.”

Frank brought in the services Dunbar to give the two boxers the best chance of performing at 100 percent.

Frank explained: “I started working with Joe Dunbar in the 1990's. He was the secret weapon in the Lennox camp and has helped many of my fighters to reach levels they have never expected to. His expertises and knowledge of sports is the best I have come across.”

He continued: “As long as the fighters listen to him and carry out certain instructions I know they will benefit and their careers will last longer. There are no shortcuts to achieving things...just the right way of doing them.”

Dunbar was an accomplished distance runner and completed a sub four-minute mile as well as representing both England and Great Britain.
