Well there it is, pencilled in for 27 February 2010, at Cranbourne Racetrack is Bob Mirovic to battle an unknown opponent over 6 breathtaking rounds.
Big Bob wont be too happy sharing the abode with the resident dishlickers!

he is from the central coast yeah?
he should just fight some bum in front of his local supporters so he can go out a winner and retire with a celebration of sorts. there is just little point fighting on at this stage.

Bob is having a tune up fight after an extended lay off, whats the problem with that or does he jump into a 10 rounder with little preperation, its ok when Dib or Lenny or Jackson Asuku or Stclair or Medley or Sherrington and Leipai and you (can go on and on ) Do 6 rounders for main events but Bob isnt allows to
Bobs next fight after this one is at the croation club in Melbourne where is will be doing 10 rounds again
Solomon Homonu fought 6 rounds 3 fights ago and nothing was said so lay off Bob

True, not even Gurr needs Big Bob.

Good on him for having another Go, I just hope he dosn't get to hurt. He took some hard shots from Cameron then Hoppa twice. And at his age it wouldnt be good to cop any more one sided beat downs.

As has been mentioned before, Aus should really have a heavyweight Prizefighter event. Bob would be perfect for it. Besides that, though, there's not a lot left for him. Back-to-back domestic title defeats, so likely below PABA/OPBF level now too. I suppose he can still make a reasonable living as a journeyman, along the lines of how Julius Francis finished his career, but he obviously hasn't got it at title level anymore, and continually putting a man of his durability in long fights isn't good for him.

December 2002 Vic Darchinian headlined a card at Rosehill Racecourse. Summertime, plenty of room.

The itch to come back to the ring comes strong, and is as old as the sport its self. I just hope Big Bob doesnt get any crazed ideas in his head that he can actually make a dent on the current scene, in his country, or otherwise. Hopefully a comeback bout or two will cure him of his itch.

No disrespect to anyone that steps between the ropes, but enough is enough, they end up just embarassing themselves....

It is not a comeback. Mirovic's last fight was in July this year. Because of his age there is a limit to the number of times he can fight in a year. It is a condition of his licence. At 43 he is a long way from being the oldest active boxer. Holyfield is fighting Botha for the What a Bloody Farce title next month and he is 47!

If Big Bob hangs around long enough, he eventually drift down to the level of Oscar Talemaira 3(1)-25(12)-2. Oscar lost his last fight last night: ko'd in 4 against an opponent on debut and in his last 20 fights hasn't had a "W" against his name.
Bob, give it away - your last effort against Hoppa was an absolute "Barry" to watch. Find another job - even continuing with your thespian ambitions.

Is Oscar 'Slap hooks' Talemaira still fighting?...someone shouldve told him "OI, go and sit down".

Not unusual for Oscar to get beaten up by a novice.

A look through the form guide has noticed that Big Bob has scratched from his day at the races and a couple of new starters: Colin Wilson and Justin Whitehead come in as top weights in a weight for age event.

Seriously, it is starting to look a pretty fair card. Two Australian Championship fights, some good young fighters on the undercard.

Porky Lovett is a Cranbourne boy with a huge following in the area & Racetrack is the only large enough venue.
In the event the weather doesn't look promising the ring & seating will be in undercover betting ring.
