ive not gone for it , nothing been on thats made me want it , setanta put on regular fights that i just had to watch at the time , espn need to take a similar view . put on a big name fight with a promoise of more to follow and the viewers will flood in . imo

even if they just did a weekly magazine type show with interviews and highlights of all the worlds weekley action , a bit like for example all the football shows , match of the day , football mundial etc etc . id get it for that , they can probably do something like that fairly cheaply and then use that as a springboard for more boxing .

I'm the same as Damian, not enough on the channel to consider buying it, there is some rubbish on it at times apart from the odd footie match but I'm able to pick them up on a decent stream on the net anyway. They really had a chance to enter the boxing market. I wouldn't rule them out yet though with Hennessy's deal with ITV finishing.

Me too. I haven't been tempted in the slightest by ESPN. I loved Setanta - Irish football, Scottish football, Premiership, GAA and loads of boxing as well as Bunces hour, I even watched a bit of UFC (even though I am theoretically against all a dat shíte)

However, ESPN has been a big let down and I notice they have stopped showing the majority of the boxing stuff that they used to have on ESPN Classics.

Rumours persist it's in the post but I'm cancelling. Just having MMA ain't good enough value for me.

im not an mma fan in the slightest and i think a lot of boxing fans feel that way too , mma takes a little bit of attention away from boxing in a way and therefor more is needed than mma , majority of boxing fans wont sign up till they see regular boxing rather than the odd bout plus loads of mma

the only reason ive got it for is the ufc, some one needs to tell espn there are other sports than football

IMO the channel themselves have put all their eggs in one basket and it's not working. But I can appreciate when they show 3 hours a night of the stuff it must grate for pugilists.

Even I get bored of it.

ESPN sucks, hardly any boxing on it anymore, hard to find boxing on most of the sports channels. I enjoy Bully "Beat Down" on MTV, it's the closest to boxing and I love to see a bully get his butt owned. :bag:

I like espn, they just happen to show quite a bit of sport that I like. I like football, basketball, ice hockey so it covers a fair bit for me.

For any other sports fixxes I have Skysports or terrestrial, this includes boxing. I'm a big boxing fan but I can understand it if espn don't put any boxing on especially as their main subscribers are football and american sports fans. They are obviously taking a very cautious approach to business in this country and I think if the trends were that boxing viewing figures were going up on a regular basis and other channels were interested then they might go for it.

People don't forget that if they was to show boxing they might upset their supporters sky. At the end of the day they only started their uk channel because of the football fixtures that Setanta lost and the fact that they had to go to a different channel other than sky, they are not on British tv to support every sport that Setanta once had.

I would much prefer it if ITV resasessed their situation, especially considering their recent boxing figures and the fact that they are generally making more money now than when they made their decision to make cuts
