It has been stated that it was very difficult to get anyone from the UK to fight at Newport Last night. Just chucking some names into the pot here that would have been more benificial for the lads and given them a better challenge -
For Tony Jeffries (Jaffa)
Justyn Hugh
Harri Miles
Jamie Ambler
Justin Jones
Daniel Roberts
Shon Davies
All these are relatively local lads especialy Justyn and I know that Jamie Ambler would have taken the fight.
You lot can add your list for the other two.

For Price, there is Howard Daley - He posts here sometimes
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer OK, his record isn't great, but he comes to fight and is rarely stopped, and is local to Price - wonder if he fancies a bout?
Lee Swaby- another fighter who might fancy it- he took on Tyson Fury quite recently.
Hard to say really- at the end of the day its up to the individual fighters.

Price could really hurt Howard Daley so I wouldn't suggest that match.. I've sparred with Howard and he's just a novice who needs to learn the trade. He's a nice guy too..

I'd like to see Price take on Matthew Ellis
only joking.

Thanks Tony and Jon, I appreciate what you are saying but I have had 23 fights now. My defence has improved a thousand percent since my last stoppage against Dave Ferguson 7 fights ago. I'm going to ask the board in the new year if they will let me start doing 6x3s. I think I will do better over longer distances because I am fit for a heavyweight and will be able to tire them more with my pressure style. I have fought some handy lads who haven't been able to hurt me. Richard Towers has stopped all his opponents except me, Danny Hughes said he thought he was going to KO me and I took him the distance, I drew with 20st+ former ABA finalist Ben Harding and have beat knock out merchant Dave Ingleby (although he did knock 3 of my teeth out, but you can make allowances for my debut

). Anyway my point is that I can look after myself better now and I always give a good competative fights. I have learn't the hard way, not being a big ticket seller I couldn't have learnt the easier way.

not sure what Justin is up to at the moment but I dont think fighting Jeffries would be benefitial to him. he's under Oliver Harrison now, and by all accounts coming along nicely. Dont get me wrong, he's going nowhere near the top, but in the same sense I dont think another setback is what he needs.

Thanks Jonny, things are improving although I know my record isn't really indicating that. I fought on Sunday there is a write up here
http://news.boxrec.com/news/2009/birthd ... year-close
I felt great and didn't feel like I got hit, I'm more relaxed now and thinking more instead of just rushing in with my head down. Hines was a good amatuer and got to the ABA finals I think but he has been out for a few years. I think next year I can pull off a few upsets and hopefully get a masters title shot. Thats what I'm aiming for anyway. Dave Ingleby did that this year and I hope I can do the same next but hopefully win that British Masters title.

Hi Howard, if your fighting for the "Heavyweight title of Preston" things have got to be good!
All the best for 2010 m8!
