The most anticipated rematch of the era for 1942. Conn fracture his hand and the fight was called off. But can Billy could had beat the brown bomber in the remath with the same i speed and intelligent fight that he fought for 12 rounds in the first fight? And win a decision? or he would had been ko in 8 rounds the same way he was ko in the rematch but in 1946. I beleive he could had win by decision this time. Conn had a very strong chin and Took a lot of hard punches before being ko in the 13 round; and still got up at 10!.

Conn was marvelous for one night only against Louis; I think Joe would have beaten him in 1942 by knockout. Louis was just DEATH in rematches, I dont see the result being any better for Conn in all honesty. In 1942 Conn would have been capable of beating probably every other HW on the scene, except Louis.

Louis would've done basically what he did in the rematch - corrected his technical mistakes, worked his jab (rather than waiting for big shot openings), and accepted the knockout if/when it happened to come.
