Went to the boxing on friday in newport saw all of the fights have no idea how much money a uk journeyman will get for trying his hardest with only a slight chance.
the undercards are what makes the show and there get no cerdit just a lose

How many rounds?
They'll get paid alright. Some fighters like Peter Buckley will make a decent living fighting week after week and taking fights on short notice.

If i'm not mistaken wasnt Buckley one of the most paid British fighters for 5 years running ?

That can't be right. For example he only fought 13 times I think it is in 2007. I doubt he'd have got much more than a couple of thousand per fight.

Yes but if you work out how many other fighters are journeymen and have only half the amount of contests a year then he would be one of the best paid,maybe

He'll earn more than other journeyman bt won't make as much as a British title fighter, say a Kell Brook or John Murray even if they fight 13 times a year compared to their 2/3

It depends on the bout.6x2's on a non televised show/dinner show,probaly just under a grand.On a tv show against an up and coming prospect,around 2-3 grand for 6x3's

So i guess few hundred pounds for 4*3 for small promoter show and couple grand if u top bill

For a small show only a few hundred quid and even then it depends on how many tickets you sold. £800 to £1200 is an average.

Journey men dont have to sell tickets
The average pay for a 4x3 is about 850 to 950 altho you may get up to 1200 for a last minute job against a decent kid.

On a tv show it goes from 1400 to maybe a couple of grand against a good lad.

Iv never heard of a lad being paid only a couple of hundred quid as a home lad unless they were on a ticket deal and its goe wrong and no away lad would box for that kind of money

Sorry I did not read the thread properly I thought they wanted to know how much a fighter earned. I have known 2 local fighters only get £300 each as they did not sell many tickets. I have also know a local lad dropped from a bill the day before due to bad ticket sales.

It would be great if boxers did not have to worry about sales but that is just not the case. Again apologies for not reading the thread properly.

iv known lads box for nothing to get on the home side just depends how much they want it.

Its a hard job telling a lad but some promoters ent rich and cant afford 1500 quid a bout will cost without tickets being sold its a realy hard decision to make

some ppl pay peanuts to home lads, i heard a northeast promoter pays his fighters between 400 and max 750, tommy someone his name is i think not the scottish one someone else

well they wont retire on those wages then
