Goodwin Promotions - hang your heads in shame

Utterly disgusted that a boxing show is taking place at Stadium:MK, the home of a football club that basically stole it's league place from a club in Wimbledon. :shame:

Is the problem that the show is at a football ground? Or the fact that MK nicked the club from Wimbledon?

I'm not really getting the point of this thread. Is it a personal vendetta against the Goodwins?

No vendetta - not really sure where you got that from? Just find it appalling that a sport with such a tradition as boxing should be shown in an arena that epitomises everything that is wrong with modern sport.

Sorry, is someone else promoting the Earl fight there then or have they as promoters got no choice on the venue? Maybe I've got my wires crossed...

Isn't it also home to a basketball team, which I presume is where the boxing show is taking place? And wasn't it Wimbledon F.C who proposed to move out to Milton Keynes causing the fans to break-away from the club and form A.F.C Wimbledon. You have to remember Wimbledon F.C were more or less bust and were going out of business before that strange fellow bought them and rebranded the club, he knew that the continuing of Wimbledon F.C wouldn't work due to the majority of their fans after giving up on the club for moving out to Milton Keynes. Based on your opening post and thread name I think it's a little harsh on the Goodwins who are only trying to make a few bob.

Fair enough, maybe a bit harsh - no offence intended. Just don't expect me to be at this show!

P.S. MKDons.com/co.uk was registered as URL / Domain name several years before Wimbledon moved to Milton Keynes by..... you guessed it..... Pete Winkleman!

thats his name, one man I could never take too, he has a face that you just can't trust..I didn't know that about the URL, he obviously had a dream and was setting up a brand before he even got the opportunity to buy it or maybe he was afraid someone would rob his plans

I am the promoter of this event. Stadium MK is the only venue within the area which offers a top class venue and can cater for 1000 people.

We are promoting the sport of boxing not football.

It is a ludicrous thread!

I am personal friends with Harry and his family. We will build him up to a title shot of some description at the end of 2011. Whilst Harry will be having his first fight for us in Milton Keynes we would anticipate his second fight will take place in Yorkshire. We are looking at fighters in the North East as well and our aim is to build up our team from all over the British Isles.

When I saw the title of this topic I assumed MacTavish would be berating them for promoting Graham Earl fights, when many people believe him to be finished.

Hi Steve glad that Harry is with a promoter that is giving him some decent backing. I will definately turn up in support if put him on a bill in Yorkshire!

Harry topped the bill in York's first proffesional show in 11 years, not bad backing for a novice. He has also boxed in Hull and beverely, always on the right side of the bill,im not sure he could have been backed much better.
