Frazier stops him late-on, in a very close tussle. Breaks the rest of Holmes' ribs in the process, but goes home with eyes which won't open for a week.

Agreed.

Two of my all-time favorite fighters.

It would be one hell of a fight, but I see Joe by TKO late. Another one of those wars that could see the fighters never quite the same afterwards.

Where there is a will there is a way, and this fight would be way way way and more way. All I can actually predict is that the day after would be miserable.

Based on their own writings I would give the edge to Joe, he never never never had any quit in him, and as long as his corner would support him he would get up and pursue the fight. Larry's own words tells us that to him there were some fights not worth continuing if the going got too tough. Granted he never showed it, but he says it in his own words. I have to think that Frazier would be the guy who would give him cause to stop the incoming and to take his check.

It's hard for me to envision Holmes lasting the full 15, but he would've given Frazier a helluva fight for as long as it lasted.
