Monzon is No.1, but Perez may be the best flyweight ever. And Locche was one of the greatest defensive fighters ever. And Jorge Castro may have the greatest comeback ever in a single fight (KO of John David Jackson after getting his a--- handed to him for nine long rounds)

Carlos Monzon.
I believe Martin Sosa Cameron also has Pascual Perez at number 1

^^^Then I desperately need him to interject in my support
I remember thinking at the time of the vote, it's pretty tight between Monzon & Perez, I think the latter deserves the nod, though. Figured people here were more familiar with Monzon, & that'd swing it in his favour, but not by this margin.

I agree it's very close. I have huge respect for Perez, a rare flyweight (at that time) who could punch as well as box. Went with Monzon because he had more defences and was dominant for so long, but it's really a tough pick between the two

Hard to go past the great Monzon.
The Argies have produced a long list of legendary champions, challengers
and contenders. Impressive really, as they have been consistent since
the sports rise. It must be all that red meat they eat ;)
