Behold! Another film about Ali. It's called "Facing Ali" and the film takes a rather different approach. It does contain a brief history of his life, but it also reveals how some of fights came to be and the situation some fighters where facing prior to their fight(s) with Ali. The movie is narrated by 10 fighters, all of whom he has fought: George Chuvalo, Sir Henry Cooper, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Ron Lyle, Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers, Leon Spinks, and Ernie Terrell.

What I found amazing was how much they all revered Ali. I found Ken Norton's story to be sad. Though he probably won 2 of the 3 or maybe even all three of the fights he is very thankful that he had the chance to fight Ali because it changed his life so much. It was also sad to see Joe shedding some tears when speaking about Ali's condition. Enjoy!

PS. wow these fighters are pretty bad ass. The conditions they went through and their toughness. You don't see these in many heavyweights nowadays.

And please no bashing. An Ali of late can't defend himself, but a prime one would take your shit talking and tear you a new asshole.

I read the book. Yeah, all of Ali's former opponents, save Frazier revere him. Even the late Floyd Patterson and Ernie Terrrel who he was unusually cruel to have made peace with him.

As for Frazier, Ali has tried many times to apologize. What's done is done.

When Norton had his tragic car accident it was Ali who was one of the first people there to see him.

George Foreman calls Ali "his brother" and stays in touch with one of his daughters so he can find out the truth about rumors about his health.

I believe the hardest thing for Frazier to forgive in terms of Ali, is Ali's victory over Foreman.

In many other ways Joe has shown some limited warmth toward Ali....for example after viewing Ali Norton III he gave the fight to Norton by only one round in his eyes. And he also said he could see it called either way. As much as he liked Kenny, this does not seem like he held a great disdain for Ali. At least on certain occasions. He clearly is heard calling Ali "my man" while helping to report on the Rumble in the Jungle.

Joe is one of my absolute favorite fighters. I think the phrase "An old fashioned Joe Frazier style beating" is a very iconic statement. He really put a beating on people like perhaps no one else.
