Joe Louis published his first autobiography in book form published in 1947,
MY LIFE STORY(with the editorial aid of Chester L.Washington and Haskell Cohen).
Joe Louis published a second autobiography of his life that appeared in 7 parts in the NEW YORK TIMES in 1948.

Has anyone here ever read his NYT auiobiography series?
Quotes from the NYT piece have been published in later books written about Joe Louis.
It appears somewhat different in content then his book.

I knew about that,I just dont feel like paying out seventeen dollars in 2010 to the New York Times to be able to view articles written and published
almost 62 years ago.

and read it it on-line(this time with lots of photographs).

Just noticed that Joe Louis didnt curse once(in print anyway)in his two earlier published autobiographies from 1947 and 1948.

Well that's just ridiculous. I am led to question the fact that he actually wrote his own autobiographies, I mean, who could possibly lead a curse-free life. Joe conned us all, got someone with a higher intellect than himself to write those books.

Pretty fair guess that he didn't, since he was illiterate and didn't even know how to write.

Man,do you think that Larry Holmes actually even wrote his autobiography?
He(Holmes) at one time even said publicly that he was misquoted in his own autobiography.
when he called Butterbean "Just a Big Fat Slob that was impersonating a boxer".

Oh man. It's so sad that such a high percentage of successful boxers are illiterate dumbasses. I'm sure guys like James J Jefferies, Rocky Marciano, Gerry Cooney and Joe Messi would be able to string enough sentences together to write a decent auto-bio. Klitschko bro's are freakin doctors!!
The rest of the HW's need to step out of the DARK and step up :OhYes:
