Happy New Year guys and I genuinely appreciate the well wishes from all of you.

I've known Ian for years and we've always remained on good terms and enjoyed several beers together when I used to live in Sheffield. We're a similar age, similar waistline and have many little'uns rampaging around our houses DD . Combine that with a genuine love for boxing and a mutual silver tongue and I think we'll be a good combo. It's nice to be part of an excellent team that is already in place and I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of the lads.

Some years ago on another site, I had a long exchange of banter with Ben which made out I was the Pressman you speak of, and a lot of people fell for it so we carried on for a while.

The news site seems to be working well alongside, but separately from the forum. I like how John and Ian have set it up - the news site isn't really interfering with how the forum is run and that was a concern of mine when it was announced. I hope and trust this will continue.

Ian's did damn good things at BBN and it worked well when Ben was assistant editor there. So can only see this as a good move for the news site.

I think Ben Carey is a very talented writer and is a writer who knows his subject inside out. I am looking forward to
reading his work on boxrec news in the near future. We (or I have to be sure) have all done stupid crap in the past but the thing about life is that we can start over and today is a new day - so welcome back Ben and I am looking forward to reading and debating your insights and opinions in the future.
