Larry Holmes at different stages of his career

I hope I don't get attacked too harshly for this post, except here goes. How would a late 20's Larry Holmes have fared against the Larry Holmes that boxed Butterbean?

Could the 50+ Larry Holmes have delayed the onset to a decision with experience? Could he have realistically gotten lucky?

I'm sure we can all agree it wouldn't have been a one sided obliteration, except how competitive would it have been?

I think it is a viable question. An oldier, slower, weaker Holmes with a heart condition and blind in 1 eye, against his younger self who was one of the best of all time. It would be a close fight, seriously.

Old Holmes against young Holmes, mmm interesting.
IMO the only fight that would have been a bigger mis-match than this one would be a wheel-chair bound Loius against the 1940 version
