Can you see this fight happening if Floyd comes to Britain and how much of a chance does Ryan have

I don't think their is any chance of this happening and I would give Rhodes an extremely slim chance at winning, Mayweather's talent is at a different level.

It's all about Floyd being keen on fighting in the UK, if he does, really it's gotta be a UK boxer i would think. To be honest, i can't think of anyone higher ranked or more deserving over here, that's all.

The comments about Matthew Hatton were unusual. Matthew Hatton recently drew for the IBO title- not sure why they mention his name at all. Surely even in his own wildest dreams he was never a realistic opponent for Mayweather?

There's no telling how low Floyd is prepared to go, i would'nt be surprised if Peter Buckley was brought out of retirement for his UK debut!

Mayweather is fast becomming the bitch of boxing, he's got an excuse for avoiding just about every top oponent out there. Mosley would'nt fight him 10 years ago so he wont fight him now. Margarito, no reason, just no. Cotto, not enough money involved. Pacquiao, refuses Olympic style blood tests. Williams, he's in Haymon's stable so easy get out.

It'll be a lightweight or light-welterweight again.

Rhodes would obv take this fight because of the money and the chance to fight someone of this stature, and if it went ok Ryan's stutus would rise immeasurably.
PBF has to fight someone and it isn't likely to be a big name so everyone is queuing up

if flyods gonna fight a british fighter it should be jennings, witter or brook there ar three best welters and none of them would have a chance against flyod

I really think PBF wants the fight over here to widen his fan base. When Hatton fought PBF i think PBF was a little overwhelmed with the support Hatton received. I dont agree with the opponents being named but its 1 fight. I think PBF thinks if he comes over here he's gunna turn the public into PBF fans (just my take) !!!

Would it be the most entertaining spectacle though? I'm sure Mayweather will pick somebody who he can showcase his skills off against, that has a bit of a name, isn't too big and one that has zero chance of winning. Whilst I don't think Rhodes could win he certainly could make Mayweather look less than superhuman

Rhodes, as a former British Champion and current European champion would certainly be a very credible opponent for Mayweather- certainly more so than Matthew Hatton.

In "Pure-ist" terms, for an American fighter coming over to Europe- the current European champion should really be the logical "first choice" for an opponent.

With Mayweather's hand problems I can't see him fighting a guy as big as Ryan Rhodes. He'd go for a welterweight, maybe even a light welterweight. I'm thinking of their surname being Hatton.

Mayweather V Matthew Hatton would be a joke, and a poor poor fight.

He's certainly the best/most credible UK option. IMO it's not a fight that US TV would be attracted to. Especially as Matthew has the surname to fool the US public.

Not convinced it would be a great fight to watch, but I'd probably go. Let's be honest, the only reason Foreman was suggested is because of his Promoter. Arum blatantly wants to keep Pacman's opponents in-house so that they keep their mouth shut and don't ask questions. If Yuri beats Cotto in June I expect he'll be next in line.

But good luck to Ryan. Maybe having David in the GBP camp will help get this signed.

Sorry, but given that you joined just 2 days ago, and are already posting derogatory remarks like this, people ARE going to accuse you of being the sites persistent troll.

If Floyd does decide to fight in the UK then maybe Rhodes is a good option. I think Mayweather will beat all out Welters so maybe Ryan being a little bigger may give him a slightly better chance.

Still see it as a Mayweather win but if Ryan gets the fight then good luck to him and I'll certainly be rooting for him

Being European champion does not make you a credible opponent for one of the best fighters in the world. They are two completely different levels. Rhodes is more credible than Matthew Hatton, but there are dozens of better opponents out their for Floyd to face. I will be disgusted if he fights the likes of Rhodes, either Hatton, Malignaggi, or Campbell, when he could have fought Williams, Bradley, Pacquiao, Martinez, Mosley/Berto, etc.

Could not would, he doesn't destroy anyone anymore unless they are co-operative enough to run face first into a counter.

At least Rhodes would make it look interesting with his unorthodox style, that's probably the best you can hope for. No way will Mayweather take on a Light Middleweight without a serious incentive.

I think M Hatton's name was suggested because the yanks don't quite understand the Hatton phenomenon (i don't either) and i was thinking that maybe they believed they could fill up the MGM with travelling Brits even with the wrong Hatton.

If it comes over here i can't think of anyone with a good following who is no bigger than Welterweight that they could sell. I think M Hatton is most likely if it happens over here as it can be promoted using Ricky's name.
