Tyson should not be allowed into the UK. He is a convicted rapist, been convicted of violent assults and been involved in repeated violent incidents (Lewis, Holyfield, nightclub incidents etc.)

If a Brit showed up in tha states with that record he would be shown the door.

What fantastic logic

Let's let everyone in our prisons out because 'it's in the past'.

At the end of the day though, it's not Tysons fault we're letting him in, he's juts going where the benjamins are. Plus I think there are far more dangerous people coming into the country on a daily basis, and this argument is for another forum.

Well, it depends. Some people even after they have been let out of prison are under restrictions for life. It depends on the offense.

And I think under normal circumstances we could all agree rape should be one of said offenses.

Ahhhh we have ourselves a do-gooder! Maybe you should concern yourself more with the amount of drug dealing pimps that pile in from eastern Europe or the Bin Laden supporting Muslims who want to blow up the UK until we all conform to Islam instead of getting a bee in your bonnet over a man who is hardly going to come into the country and force fathers to lock up their daughters! He done the crime and served the time, that's even if he actually done it at all.

im pretty sure there are always going to be people aginst him and for him and i can see both sides but im on the side he should be. there are some comments on the actual story page of the paper that make me wonder about people today.
Let's not pull any punches, here:

Who in their right mind would want to pay £100 to listen to a semi-literate, afro-american, ex-con talk about anything.

This individual was and probably still is, clinically insane.
and every post after that was critsizing him so all the comments have been reported and taken down

No, I am concerned by all the above. BUT the problem is this - why should laws be applicable only to ordinary people?

If a run-of-the mill foreigner tried to get in with that record, he would be shown the door.

Would he? Do we do such checks? patrik Kluivert was convicted of manslaughter and accused (later equitted) of rape... he was allowe din to play* for the toon.

* I say play, he was actually the best player in the premiership and standing and pointing to where the ball shouldve gone.

Well I agree - but you will have to ask immigration / customs about that.....

I think the answer will be that they do not have or the agencies do not know if they have criminal convictions....

As to the other post on Kluivert - he's hardly a run-of-the-mill foreigner is he? He's another high profile player.

Personally I don't care if Tyson comes here and would actually like to meet or hang with him; I'm just pointing out that it seems odd to allow a convicted rapist and assaulter into this country.
