A few too many TBA's there for my liking! :DDD

Seriously, thought, I've nothing against "journeymen" opponents for some bouts, but to host virtually the whole show on this format is disappointing.

I'd like to see at least 3 or 4 good well matched bouts. That said, I know these shows largely turn a profit due to the popularity of the home fighters (rather than the quality of the match ups) so fair play to them- business is business.

Looking at Bertrand Aloa's record, I'd say Rose will breeze through him.

Whicker ,

You need to get a promoters and matchmakers license and then you would learn about the game. The statement these shows largely turn a profit is way of the mark and there is 6 weeks to go to the show so it is impossible to have matched 10 fights already . I think about 6 have been made but would expect them to change a few times before the show.

The guy who posted the show is not involved with VIP and never asked if any had been matched. Jack Arnfield is fighting Jez Wilson and I believe that is a fair fight as are most of the others - this is a value for money show without TV revenue.

It is not as easy as you think.

i did copy and paste this from the BoxRec schedule and i am not affiliated with any promotional group you are correct, i got the infro about rose fighting aloah from my interview i did with rose which is on the boxrecnews site. The only fights i know that are going ahead are the rose and arnfield fights. i assumed the rest had been added by someone like yourself who is in the know, which is my mistake. i do apologise but i was just going off what i have been told. i am looking forward to the fight night.

Fair enough- I'm not claiming its easy- I'm just going off a lot of past events (not all yours, of course.) The advertising posters/flyers of these shows typically mention the homefighters, rarely mention who they are actually fighting.

The marketing does seem to be based around "come and see these home fighters fight."

Also, with regard to cards, most of them have been V journeymen.

My comment regarding turning a profit was based on the assumption that most of the ticket buyers are going to see a particular person fight (regardless of who they are fighting.) IE a local popular lad V journeymen who sells 100 tickets is bringing in more revenue than a well matched bout between two fighters that might not draw as many people to the event.

That said, I do look forward to seeing the match ups- as I say- if there are at least 3 or 4 decent bouts on the bill, I'll go. :TU:
