Not too bad for the fragile Hide I guess - knocked out Potter but stopped by Ellis...must be a small heavy 'cause he's been floating around at Cruiser lately.
If he's got any ambitions left he could possibly pull off an upset.

That's only as I think Hide's resistance has gone AWOL.

Does make you laugh, someone like Hide will slate Audley's opposition until the cows come home and yet who has he fought since being flattened by Vitali over 4 years ago!!

In fact if you think about it, since 1999, Audley has won 11 pro contests (not to mention won a gold medal), the total sum of which I would say far far exceeds Hides record since then.

I'm trying to guess this opponent before going doing the search on boxrec.

Someone said he Ko'd Potter, the only Russian who I can remember doing that was the guy who lost to Nelson for the vacant WBU Heavyweight belt.

Is it the same guy.

If it is, its okay for Herbie, but I fully expect an easy win.

I'll be amazed if Hide dosen't knock him out in the 1st round.

You guys seem to forget HIDE is a two time WBO CHAMP.

Give the guy some respect

You guys all Love Audrey Harrison but he aint done SHIT so far!

He's quite well known over here, though he did fight Johnny Nelson in a joke world heavyweight title fight. I can understand how you might have given that one a miss.

Oh I did have the right guy.

One things this guy can't handle is speed.

I think if Johnny applied himself he would have KO'd Vassilev he's very one paced.

I think Herbie will go for it a bit more than Nelson.

Hide KO 4.

Vassiliev is pretty tough and can punch a bit.... hits hard enough to put Herbie away...
He ko'd potter (accumulation) and Llewellyn (with one shot)

You seem to forget the man has the worst "chin" in the history of boxing, he makes Michael Grant look like Ray Mercer.

He got hit in the head by Bowe's elbow... The INSIDE of his elbow, you know, where the BICEP is.... and "Slipped" according to Richard Steele. Yet he was hurt BAD, and if it was considered a KD, would not have made the 10 count. That's not even a glass jaw, more like paper thin boesel wood.

ive seen vassiliev. he fought mark potter in 2001 on the undercard of williams v francis 2. he outlasted potter and put him away.

kinda tough but he shouldnt beat herbie.

PS why do americans like tantum and nasty hang around its a british forum here. im sure you havent even seen most of these fights.

I just saw Bowe - Hide three times. I downloaded it off of Dutch Windmill's Amazing FTP Server.

I can post anywhere I want to, this doesn't say British posters only, it says British Scene, meaning British Boxers, NOT British posters.

You have a problem with everything I post for some reason. I have never said anything bad to you. If you're trying to get me going, you're better off getting your kicks by pissing off a different forum user.

Have a nice day. :D

i was enquiring as to why americans would want to particiapte in a british forum. purely out of curiousty. quite a fair question i feel.

i dont have a aproblem 'with everything you say'. you are referring to your sarcastic remarks to me the other day when i wrote (quite correctly) that henry akinwande has fast hands. unsurprisingly you then admitted you had never even seen akinwande fight.

you have a nice day too.

The Akinwande-handspeed dispute would be my fault.
I said that a current day McCline has faster hands than Henry Akinwande nowadays. Henry's jab is still pretty fast though.

no it was a different thread.

tantum saw a comment and jumped at the chance to make a cynical sarcastic reply.

it was on a subject he had no knowledge of however.

these people make posting in boxing forums quite an irritating process.

Dutch Windmill is telling you, that HE'S the one who told me that Henry is slow. Get it?

tantum, that pic is great... really shows how athletic some of these heavweights are.... McCall was nearly 240lbs and look at the elevation and flexibility he has......great athlete

It's kinda strange you should mention OLIVER McCALL, does anyone agree with me in that McCall has Lewis' number.

O.k, forget the second fight as McCALL WASN'T A WELL MAN but i just feel he has the style, power and chin to beat Lewis everytime when they meet!

No.

Why not forget the first fight because Lewis was over-confident?

I actually think Lewis was more than a little fortunate to find that version of McCall in the opposite corner for the rematch.

Imagine the red hot heavyweight who first ripped the title off Lewis in 94 turning up in 96. Could Lennox have handled him? No question the big Brit had improved his technique but would that have been enough?

I think so. I'm not so sure Mcall was a 'red hot Heavyweight' at all, just a sterling chin and a decent whack on him. It's common knowledge that Steward plotted for Mcall to take Lewis out with the shot he did, Lewis with Correa (spelling) on board had a naive team and was naive himself, he got sparked same way as he did by Rahman.

If the same Mcall turned up for the rematch I see Lewis winning a wide points victory fighting very cautiously (as he was) and making Mcall look clumsy, perhaps something like the Tua fight.
