Maloney Promotions Youtube

Hi,

This is andy from ftm and it is my job to upload the fights onto youtube. I thought i'd just try and set the record straight, since i realise the ashley sexton ko has generated a lot of publicity.

Bottom line, we can only upload the fights once we get permission, i can't do anything about that. As soon as i do they go up, day by day (if possible) and one by one. I realise its frustrating waiting but in time they will all be up.

I keep getting messages saying 'why is it not up??' so hopefully this should clear it up. its not through lazyness or boxing politics regarding away fighters or controversial decisions!

But please do not take it upon yourself because we HAVE to take them down if you do not own the copyright

End of the day, the vid that someone put up on youtube got 8,000 hits last time I looked, so it shows that people were searching for it the day after. It aint gona do you any harm to leave them up is it, that's the sort of vid and KO that could go viral as it was so dramatic, but I think you kind of put a spanner into the momentum that vid was gaining. Hopefully the new 'official' one will gain the same momentum.

Just seen the new 'official' upload, it is 10 mins long and has 300-odd views. Congrats.

Rule one of a good viral, make it short and sweet and get to the point. Why not make another upload without all the intro stuff, just the 1st round like the 'taken down' video was. Why not also make one with 20 secs leading into the KO.

This is how you should be thinking, how to get great exposure for Sexton via a great KO, not just putting a 10 mins long vid up which yes will appeal to the hardcore fans but maybe not to the casuals.

Welcome to internet marketing 2010.

Think you are missing the point of Cobra's post there Eric. In terms of internet viral promotion a short and snappy upload would gain a far wider audience. Non boxing fans would forward the link to their mates and a percentage of them would click on the other Maloney Promotion uploads, creating greater traffic to their channel. A ten minute complete clip incl intros, ring walks and interviews is great for boxing fans - I love it! - but why not put a second, far shorter clip up that could gain a wider audience?
