My favorite combination to watch would be the right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the chin. A good example that comes to mind would be Tyson back in the late 80's early 90's you would see that combination at LEAST three times in his fights.
Tyson often switched southpaw to throw that combination

maybe it sounds boring but my favourite combination to see in boxing is someone doubling the jab, or working the jab to the body to open up the jab to the head. the root of all boxing, right there :TU:

I loved to watch the punches JCC would throw to set up the left to the liver. left or right uppercut, left to the liver. right to the body, right uppercut, left to the liver. overhand right, left to the liver. left to the liver, left uppercut, straight right, left to the liver. I could watch that all day too.

...ezzard charles liked the combination jab to the body...jab to the head and left hook to the head.

dempsey liked left uppercut to the groin and left hook to the head.

Thats the one I was thinking of also Jones JR's double left hook to the head or jab to the head left hook to the body

...although it was a left hook to the jaw that walcott kayoed ezzard charles with, it was the left hands to the body that were causing ezzard to keep his right hand lower that brought about the opening for the hook. guys in ezzard's camp always said he was really kayoed by those body punches.

Outstanding description of Chavez's heart-wilting combination-punching. The way you wrote it, I can visualise every bone-jarring blow :TU:

I liked how Mickey Ward would throw the left hook to the head than go downstairs with it. Slightly unconventional in that it was backwards but very effective for him as he had a great left hook to the body.
Best one I ever was hit with was in the gym by Henry Sims. Left uppercut/hook type thing to the body followed by an overhand right.
Busted a rib.

Great shout on Ward. A workman-like professional.

i agree with the 2 previous mentions of Ward. it's such a simple 1-2, but it's not seen alot. as soon as someone throws it, you automatically think of ward. it's even tough to duplicate with authority on a heavy bag.... at least for me. (it all reminds me of Montreal Canadien's defenseman Serge Savard in hockey in the 70's doing a quick spin at the blueline to evade an attacker. it became the spin-a-rama. and eventually the "savardian spin-a-rama". anyone else does it, even now, it would be known as that.)
