Shanee Martin is fighting for the WBA world female title in Japan this sunday.
Not a lover of women boxing but would be nice for a brit to bring back the title.

i have no interest in womens boxing at all.

i wish her beest of luck, but i neither have interest or would look out for the result. If she was boxing in my back garden I'd close the curtains... sorry.

Im not surte mate, I appreciate they're good athletes, and hard fookers too, i mean, I wouldnt want a shot off Jane Couch who posts on here!! but I just dont like it. I reported on an amateur show last week, a woman from Northside gym in manc fought a north walian girl and fair doo's they gave it 100%, but its juts not something that interests me.

No mate but I don't watch much football, I am intrigued by women fighting though. Watched a world title MMA fight the other night it was Strikeforce a girl called Cris Cyborg was the champ and retained her title by TKO in the 3rd I think it was. It was probably the fight of the night, their stand up was excellent to. I'll always watch a womens bout when I can but to be fair I haven't seen many because they don't get much exposure. Might just have a look on you tube now you mention it.

I believe in equality etc... i.e I'm not one that would say "women shouldnt fight", but for me, personally, it just doesnt do anything for me.

Horses for courses I suppose.

I'll be rooting for Shanee to do the business and put great Britain on the female boxing map.

It was an absolute privelage to work with Shanee Martin for some of her previous contests. She took me on as a cut man when she hired Jason Rowland to train her. It wasn't the greatest of starts, as Shanee sustained a rotten cut in the first contest I worked for her.

I must say, that with the exception of Tony Conquest, I have yet to see a more dedicated professional than Shanee Martin. Whenever Jason made a suggestion or tried to make slight variations to her technique, she tried extremely hard to put them into practice. Her fitness levels were always of the highest order and I can honestly say, I never heard her moan or whine once, either in the gym or on the end of a result that never went her way.

I know that womens boxing is not for everyone, and I respect the right of those who don't wish to watch or participate, not to. I have to say, I was one of them.... but I was converted by Shanees sheer dedication and willingness to work to achieve her goals.

Winning that belt will be a fitting way to crown a career conducted with pride, dignity and graft.

Best of luck to her for the WBA title, but I have to agree that womens boxing doesn't interest me very much either.

Just to say I appreciate their work hard, women can display some serious skill and clearly dedicate on par with male pro athletes, but lets face it...

We know a women no matter how well decorated, titled, or how well she performs, she will always be superseded by her male counterpart.

One of the reasons I love watching boxing is seeing the growth, unique elevation to the top of the world and the stature of the fighters - resulting in a men who arguably could be the best a human can be at this sport at this given time. Also it's a similar reason as to why I enjoy the heavier weights more to the lighter ones - to explain, for example; that even the most decorated flyweight will be trodden on by a moderately good cruiser/heavyweight, and that no matter how well the flyweight performs at his weights or that he is the number one pound for pound ever - there will always be a human that is greater (can beat him) then him in the ring and there is nothing he can do about it. I like to gaze upon the greatest the human race could have to offer to boxing, and a woman in a physical sport ever will be that as long as men are around.

I often wonder if its something engrained in me because of that mate...

I don't watch women's boxing because it is of a horrendously low grade. The vast majority of female boxers lack any talent, technique, or power. Even the "world class" female boxers are difficult to watch.

I watched 23-0 Super middle weight champ Ragosina fight twice, and it was an absolutely terrible display void of any technique, speed, or substance. But of course when your challengers are obese and hold records of 5-3 its pretty easy to get by.

Personally I'd probably share the same opinion as some on here, not being a massive fan of women's boxing but as I'm a regular attender of the local "first team" shows in and around Wolverhampton I've seen many of our "first ever professional female boxer" Lyndsey Scragg (has won the GBC "world title" and has been unlucky twice fighting overseas for the WBC and WBA) she always puts a real good effort in and often her fight is one of the best fights of the night, give it a go.

I know Shanee personally and she is a very good boxer (better than alot of men ive seen in the ring lately) if all the pro men had as much guts (Going to Japan, Germany and Hungary fighting the best) the world of boxing would be a better place. I dont really like watching girls hit each other in the face, just think that something is wrong with that, but No getting away from of it, some of these girl can really box.

For the record, Shanee was robbed in Hungary. To the extent that former board officials wrote to BN voicing their disgust, having witnessed her sterling effort.

I wish her the Best Of Luck but the Standard of Women's Boxing is Very Poor. Shanee Martin has had 2 Fights since 2007 with a Record of W9 L4 D1 does go to show how low the Standard is.. imo the ring aint a place for women...

I didnt say better then most men, I said better then alot of men. I dont think any of the pro women would beat any pro men but what i meant was that some of these girls have superior skill compared to some of the men

I agree with you Martin Women boxing is levals below male boxing, all im saying is that some of these women have very good skills.

I have no interest in women 's pro boxing. Pro boxing is too brutal, and I can't stomach women undergoing serious pain.

Amateur women's boxing I have not so much problem with.

Women should definitely be allowed to partake in it, that's certain, but I don't want to watch it.

Also at this early stage the quality of women's boxing is so poor to discount it as a serious sport.

Brown hair and really cute looking. don't think she had a very good record though
