heard joe on talksport this evening, saying that he does not think he will promote anymore.
Another one bites the dust.rhino222 wrote:heard joe on talksport this evening, saying that he does not think he will promote anymore.
Perhaps they end up on matchroom shows. Rees v Mcalister should be made.Wales wrote:Pryce & Reece worth making a move for ... does joe have anyone else worth picking up the phne to sign?

Thats why people have no sympathy when Khan left as one of his fighters was owed a lot of money.Rocky Balboa wrote:Anyone got any clear light on Joe's financial predicament? I mean he has not received a penny from alledgedly. Fcuking liberty it is!
Give Joes accountant a call, I am sure he will divulge Joes finances for youRocky Balboa wrote:Anyone got any clear light on Joe's financial predicament? I mean he has not received a penny from alledgedly. Fcuking liberty it is!
I would'nt want to see it but I think it might happen possibly against the super 6 winner.G0mez wrote:Calzaghe could still comeback and fight one last time and still make 3 or 4 million.

It rarely takes too long for them to realise it is not as easy as it looks. Far from it. Those that cut the mustard (e.g. GBP) typically have a number of very slick operators offering guidance to the face(s) of the outfit.
Not quite the same - Calzaghe is more Ro9naldo than Groundsman.MachoMan09 wrote:The groundsman at Old Trafford has been around football his whole life but I wouldn't anticipate that he would be a suitable replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of the club and vice versa.DG. wrote:MachoMan09 wrote:It does always make me chuckle when boxers think they will give the promotion game a go - seemingly on a whim. Its not really funny or a whim, they have been around promotions their whole lives so why not give it a try once you hang them up?
It can be a quick way yo pi$$ away what money you have earned, if you're not careful.
Terrible comparison, Yours is more like spud going from the sweeper up to becoming a promoter, isnt it?MachoMan09 wrote:The groundsman at Old Trafford has been around football his whole life but I wouldn't anticipate that he would be a suitable replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of the club and vice versa.DG. wrote:MachoMan09 wrote:It does always make me chuckle when boxers think they will give the promotion game a go - seemingly on a whim. Ye that fight should definetly be made if he signs with them for one fight then he's back to a free agent, they would definetly be worth taking a punt on both proven good fighters.leforge wrote:Perhaps they end up on matchroom shows. The reason why Hatton's are succesful is they have a good stable of fighters that are going places; Murray, Lawton, Macklin and have alot of up and comers aswell.DG. wrote:Not quite the same - Calzaghe is more Ro9naldo than Groundsman.
Footballers go into management all the time, boxers can go into promoting, you can lose money as you righthly pointed out, but oyu can also makwe a go of it.
Hatton will stick it out, he has the backing of SKY to finance things plus his own £20/30M.

Calzaghe had very little fighters and promoting just didn't work out for him.
