Seems the way forward considering how good he has looked recently.

i think booth is in for a fairly easy night to be honest. marsh struggled against rocky dean a few timesLondonirish wrote:stujones wrote:Gone for Booth on points, but I aint that confident.... Booth is better P4P - but Marsh is a fair bit naturally bigger.
He is alot Bigger, although Hunter was Massive he only had 1 round in him. Marsh will be there for the full 12 rounds in his face. Marsh has'nt got a big 1 punch knockout but he is consistently strong, every shot hurts. Anyone that things Booth is in for an Easy Nights work is Wrong

Just thinking back to the Hunter stoppage, it was more to do with how bad Hunter performed which lead to TKO win, I might have been reading to much into that fight, its just put me off a bit so I've decided to leave it alone.larry cake wrote:why the sudden change of heart?Hagler2002 wrote:I'm starting to have seconds thoughts about the stoppage win, think I'll just leave it, sit back and enjoy the fight.
as ever your input into anything involving the british scene at these weights is appreciated MartinLondonirish wrote:IMO This s Booth hardest Fight Since Napa in 2007, Rocky Dean gave Marsh 3 good Fights, style's makes Fights and Marsh is Better against a boxer, which Booth is a Very Good one at that. Derry Matthew's was just too Big for Marsh done a Great Job in beating him that night made it look easy.. Iv Sparred 100's of rounds with Marsh he can Set a Serious Pace and keep it up. I would be shocked if Booth even came close to stoppig Marsh.. Without a Doubt Booth is in Great form, my Favourt Boxer to watch at the Mo. Its going to be a Great Fight very close.
cracking writeup bennie, if you were forced off the fence for a moment who would you back?bennie wrote:Matthew Marsh is bang on the weight and we look set for a 'cracker' when the non-stop West Hammer challenges Nottingham’s classy Jason Booth for the British super-bantamweight title tonight in Nottingham.
Marsh will already see himself as champ, having held the British title until weight problems forced him to relinquish prior to a defence against Liverpool’s Mark Moran last year. Veteran Booth then stepped in and stopped Moran for the vacant title.
Tall for the weight, Matthew had been – and has been - struggling with the weight for some time. He came in at featherweight last time out in December but the Board are very strict and if Matthew is bang on the weight he is bang on the weight, sensibly.
This spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e for the stylish, 32-year-old Booth, who likes to box at his own pace, pick his punches, and demoralize his opponents with late-round surges. A pro since 1996, Booth is a fine wine and has never looked better, never boxed better, but Marsh is a real action man, a York Hall favourite who sets a serious pace and maintans it. He is not a banger but simply keeps coming and has won his last five since the massive Derry Matthews stopped him in 11 rounds in an ambitious match in 2007. It remains Marsh’s only defeat in 14.
If Marsh, a former double ABA champion who boxed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games, can ‘crowd’ the better-boxing, sharper-hitting champion, he still has the youth (27) and freshness to outwork him. He’s done it with others in full 12-rounders, namely Esham Pickering and Rocky Dean.
Nevertheless, Booth has won his last seven and must go in as favourite on home turf, but the former alcoholic, in his 40th fight (34 wins), has to grow old some time and may just do so overnight.
This is what makes it the cracker.

Well, having just reading Graham Houston's preview, I would go for Booth.Counter-puncher wrote:cracking writeup bennie, if you were forced off the fence for a moment who would you back?bennie wrote:Matthew Marsh is bang on the weight and we look set for a 'cracker' when the non-stop West Hammer challenges Nottingham’s classy Jason Booth for the British super-bantamweight title tonight in Nottingham.
