Please can someone explain this fight to me how the F*CK did Otke get it? Look at the knock down at 1:12. Boxing is a f*cking disgrace with decisions like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXmSPbWJ2_4&NR=1

THE WORS DECISION I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Totally disagree. From memory I had it to reid by about a point, the reffing was terrible, granted, tillerman is it? , but its nowhere near the worst decision i.e the result imo.

Yeah maybe I was thinking more to do with the reffing decisions, like i said i didn't see the whole fight but some of the ref;s decisions are beyond rediculous.

Reid won the fight - but we all know by now that you take the money to fight in Germany you are going to get ripped off - no-one in power seems interested in doing anything about it and if fighters continue to go there for the money - then they take that chance.

It was in Austria sure - but the worst descion I ever seen over there was when Michael Sprott battered Vladmir Virchis from pillar to post for 12 rounds and at the end of it - they just gave it to Virchis - just like that!

I am still shocked that Haye took the WBA title on points over in Nuremberg.

The Reid - Ottke fight was absolutely diabolical, but not unexpected, at the time.

The Ref was warning Reid for hitting Ottke :KO:

And with Ottke jumping into Reid and grabbing, guess who he was warning???

Add to that a knockdown which was not counted and with Reid landing scoring blows and controlling the fight, I had him a wide winner, as most did.

Ottke was a good fighter, but he 'lost' a few fights only to 'win' the decision.

Same stuff goes on, all around the world to be honest, more blatantly in some countries, than others. Corruption in boxing runs quite deep, I'm afraid.

The reffing was awful, no doubt, but I thought Reid was a point ahead at the end of the day, and there is probably a shout that I was bias in my viewing against the negative dull as dishwater (yet effective) ottke. How sven had as many viewers (it was in its millions and millions on tv wasnt it) in germany is beyond me.

I was about to say about Haye!

I agree, Sprott vs Virchis was a much worst decision.

I thought Ottke won this, if you adhere to the refs interpretations.

Its was the same with Henry Maske - they love that kind of uber-technical boxing that would send people to sleep anywhere else - I used to tune in to Maske's world title fights on RTL and around round 6 I would always think to myself 'why the hell am I watching this?' the pre fight stuff involving Maske was always more entertaining.

One things for sure, I'll bet old fairbrass was more aggressive than ottke in the ring <ahem>

I remember this fight. Gutted for Reid. Everyone knows it's the chance you take by going to Germany but even by they're standards that was a bad one.

I'm nooooo fan of Otke at all but he is under-rated IMO, he had some good skills considering he had next to no pop(apart from the Mundine ko) and despite what people claim i never saw him in a complete robbery...maybe some fights that should have been a draw or a 7-5 rds loss but nothing too outrageous especially considering i've seen some far worse in the last year alone i.e Martinez vs Cintron, Funeka vs Guzman and Campillo vs Shumenov.

i just think he got lazy in Germany knowing that as long as he won 5 or 6 rds he'd always win the fight and tbh i never found the Reid fight all that controversial apart from the KD(which was half punch, half stumble) that wasn't counted or the 1 point deduction but from RD's 7 to 12 Otke pretty much dominated the fight and won all the rd's apart from one.

I'm afraid if you go to Germany and take the money, you have to win a fight very clearly....i know thats BS but hey ho.

So, you've only just discovered that there are bad decisions in boxing?

I'm guessing you've been a boxing fan for 2 weeks or so?

Tillerman's performance was corrupt. There's no other explanation.

It was a joke of a fight, at one point in the fight, can't remember which round. Reid cracks Otke with a great shot, Otke looks at the ref almost crying as if to say " you gonna let him hit me ref" and the ref warns Reid "no punching in the face lad" It was a joke, corruption springs to my mind. As far as the decision itself went, it was bad, but sadly we have seen worse in British rings lately IMO.

i really wanted reid to scream in the ref's face like roy keane there :!:
thing is in boxing once you lose your cool it's over for you.

did that prick of a ref ever get repremanded for such bias???
