There seems to be many who feel Quarry should be rated higher I definitely do not believe so.

Qawi. But if they met at Cruiserweight, Quarry would be the clear winner.

Head to head it is realistically a pick em fight.
I know a lot of people have a great sense of
nostalgia over Quarry, and he was a damned
fun guy to watch who was a danger to most
fighters.

I think Qawi vs Quarry is a really intriguing match.
Its hard to pick who takes it but it will not be a
clear cut win for either guy.

Well, I guess I'm a guy with a sense of nostalgia over Quarry. I would pick him to beat Qawi 9 times out of 10. It would not necessarily be easy for Quarry but win he would. Qawi was not big enough to beat Quarry, he was a great light heavy, a decent cruiser but not much of a heavy weight. I don't think he could hurt Quarry as much as he would need to. Quarry was used to fighting much bigger guys and if he could go toe to toe with an absolute prime Frazier for 7 rounds he sure as hell could do it against Qawi for as long as he needed to. Style wise I think Quarry would be a nightmare for Qawi as he would counter the hell out of the shorter man. Qawi only knew one way of fighting, full steem ahead, while Quarry could mix it up a little.

Qawi winning two titles puts him ahead of Quarry in the absolute ranking although in terms of who they beat and the fights they lost I would say they were pretty even.

I don't see how you could be so sure that Quarry's skin would hold up nine times out of ten against any elite fighter. Qawi had a granite chin and his defense was a lot better than Jerry's. That's 50/50 imo, real nice fight.

The thread question is qawi by a mile.

Quarry did in fact not loose many fights on cuts, only two and the Frazier I stoppage was as much down to the beating he received as it was to the cut. Because of the bad cut he got in the high profile fight with Ali he was suddenly classed as a bleeder.
Qawi did indeed have a granite chin but I don't think his defence was any better than Quarrys, they both got hit a bit too much but because they both rolled well with the punches it often looked worse than it was.

Sure, when you manage to win two titles you will easily trump a guy with a single titlefight loss. Quarry did however beat some very good fighters, almost on par with the best that Qawi beat.

LOL at Quarry being classified as a bleeder, that's because he was a bleeder. Qawi's defense was excellent, don't agree with either of those statements in any way.

And how many fight did Quarry, the bleeder, loose on cuts?

He didn't loose any.
