URI GELLER is plotting to end the unbeaten record of light-welterweight prospect Frankie Gavin on Saturday.

Gavin, 24, will be in line for a British title shot if he beats Peter McDonagh at Wembley Arena.

But McDonagh, 32, is hoping for an upset - with the help of psychic and spoon bender Geller.

Geller said: "I believe in positive thinking. Peter knows the power of the mind is enormous.

"If he has that streak of energy in him, he'll excel."

Geller helped Irishman McDonagh before a 2006 win over Michael Gomez.

He added: "I'll do what I did last time - be an inspiration and motivation. Anything can happen."

This reminds me of when eubank fought collins and collins claimed to be hypnotised during the fight, it appeared to really spook eubank at the time.

Gavin will win this one no matter who is helping McDonough he is a good few levels above him and should comprehensively outbox him.

peter mcdonagh is a very odd character isnt he, he's a tough fighter though and hopefully he will really take the fight to gavin.

dont think gavin will get a british title fight if he wins though

McDonagh is a decent, keen and capable fighter- but he isn't a knockout puncher. Against a strong, come forward fighter like Gavin he really needs to put on the performance of his life , and totally dominate , to get the win.

And I just can't see that happening.

A good match up , for sure, for a noivce- but Gavin takes this comofrtably in my opinion, probably by a late-ish "mercy stoppage-" IE Gavin is well in control, landing with many hard shots, so the ref waves it off .

you know what, gavin has been bombing fwd & over pushing himself imo, & recently he's been letting his boxing flow nice being relaxed & doing what he does best in outclassing opponents. peter is a good friend of mine & needs a wheel barrow to carry his nuts in & if gavin wants to give him no thought & dismiss him mentally he'll have a hards night work.
ive been reading gavins interviews & he's been quite clued up on pete in pete's approach being diffrent in one contest to the next which tells me gavin pay's attention to detail & his boxing brain is proven regardless. cant say i can see gavin losing at all maybe earlier on in his career but not at this stage, but boxing is a funny old game & if there's a 2 % chance of pete winning he'll give tooth & nail 4 it

Frankie has brought in Eileen Drewery to help him, its back to an even fair match now
