At last. Although we must make allowances for the 29 year old Elcock who must have needed to take 7 months off after that war with Farnell

Tait has little power but an awkward style - it won't be enough to beat Elcock. Hasn't Tait been a long time Light Middle?
Tait has also been out for a good while with a back injury sustained in a car crash so I fail to see the value in this fight for 'Team Elcock'.

I at least hope it is staged in his hometown of Birmingham so he can build on his local following...

Agreed, where in Brum is he from do you know? Was he brought up in Walsall?

I think he is from Stechford in Brum. If you go on to the FrankWarrenTV.com website and do a search under his name, there is quite an interesting story on his younger days. He was quite a wild child.

I have heard Shard End and that he did his amateur boxing over in Erdington.
I believe he is a Blues fan - as I saw someone with a BCFC flag in the crowd at one of his early fights.
C'mon Elcock - lets keep the Birmingham flag flying!!

I was impressed with Elcock's composure against Farnell and at 29 would like to see him move along at a faster rate, the talent is there to cause a big ripple in this poor (at the moment) devision.

Maybe a match up with someone like Lockett/Groenworld (or better) and then I think he should have gone for Alexander - if he could beat Alexander then he's perfectly within his rights to challenge a Eastman or Hakkar.

He should be fighting more regularly now, but its nice to see him back.

Yeah agreed Stu i would also like to see him face one of those guys and would pick him to beat either, Farnell is very limited and Elcock was a worthy winner IMO. I really liked what i saw in him and know that he was a good amateur, he pressed the fight early against Farnell and used the jab well, as soon as he scored the knockdown it was a sort of breakthrough for him and he boxed well off the back foot for the remainder of the fight. He is skilled and classy and i would like to see him go far.

Any ideas on suitable arenas in Brum to defend his title?

I will be there where ever it is. The NEC would be nice, but maybe a bit big until he takes on Eastman and Calzaghe

It is a risk though - Alexander only needs one punch!
