for the UFC?
i know a lot of u guys dont get into mma, but its a cracking card. 3 fights to look out for, a decent HW match up between nogueira and valesquez (nogueira by dec), bisping v w.silva (silva by KO) and local favourite george setoropolous v joe stevenson (stevenson by dec, but wouldnt be at all surprised if george pulled something off coz hes looked good in his last few ufc fights).

I'd have to swap the cables of my Foxtel to plug in my old set top box, tbh that seems like too much effort for something like this...

I'm thoroughly excited about this card.

Still pissed off couldn't get a ticket for it though. Sold out too quick for me.

I'll be tuning in for sure. I think its a great promotional idea from Dana, to make it free to air for australians. Hope boxing starts getting these ideas.

is it a replay or is it live?

Live. Normally this type of thing is a PPV. But the noucey UFC have the habit of putting out a free-to-air when they they first host a UFC in a new country. Good PR move.

Looks like I will be watching this now. Was supposed to work this weekend but still have a bunch of stitches in from having an abscess removed so I'm taking the weekend off.

Very similar I believe.

I dont mind watching UFC if they stand up, When they roll on the floor for more than a 30 seconds i turn it over and watch something else. Its about as interesting as watching paint dry.

agreed, my brother has been trying to get me into it for ages, i just cant do all the leg humping shit they go on with. the bit that gets me the most is they award points for that shit. dont get it.
ill watch today though, by the sounds a few of the fights will be exciting so be worth a watch

I wouldn't recognise phenomenal ground fighting if I saw it but Sitoropolus can box OK, nice head movement and slips. Nice sharp punches, and straight punches to the body too, not so much to hurt to the body but to bamboozle the defence, which is rare in MMA. They introduced him as having amateur boxing experience, and what I saw today made me think that an amateur boxing background is probably better for you than pro boxing in some respects in MMA. Nice footwork, balance and not putting as much power on your shots may prevent you getting tangled up with a grappler.

Overall I was a little disappointed by today's show. The build up on HD1 had me sucked in a little bit.

I watched, it was alright but nothing to convert me, what kept me interested was i could identify with some of the fighters that I've seen come thru the Ultimate fighter series.

Agree with big Red Grappling on the ground should be looked at to keep 95% of it's audience awake...it's boring Dana.

george was great, was a pretty good fight, even though it was on the ground, they were actually going for it, the amount of almost submissions was good, the crowd nearly tore the place down when george almost locked in that weird arm lock thing.
the fact they were on the ground so much was a lil dissapointing, but they were actually going fo rsomething the whole time, not just trying to pin the other guy down/still. thats where it get very boring/ borderline gay porn. and that is a real problem due to the fact they get points for that shyte.
the poor other aussie against cro cop got smashed, but ig uess that'll happen wen u take a mismatch on at 2 days notice

I felt the pain of the Aussie that fought Cro-Cop, he didn't disgrace himself though
