Does anyone know if car garages have to provide you with a warranty of say x days / weeks / months when selling you a car? Is there some eu directive or something as such that states the minimum they must offer is ....

Im looking at buying a used car, seen one I fancy, but the garage have come back to say 21 days is the warranty, which seems minimal. This forum can usually answer almost anything, so thought it'd be the best place to come for advice :TU:

21 Days? Delboy would give you more.

Many traders use http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/quote_p ... 4wod0mU0dQ

for the warranty and pass the cost on to you, I would get the warranty myself if I were you.
ALSO -0 watch out for the '12 minths MOT' when you buy the car, usually they take it to their mates garage and pass it, next year you might get shafted.

Get an independent mot and any issues knock off the cost against the car.
