WBO Super Champions Now!

Apparently, Acelino Freitas has been awarded the WBO Super championship for having successfully made ten defensives of his Super Featherweight belt.

Fightnews report that this means Popo can now fight mandatories every 18 months. However, the report does not state if there will be a vacant WBO Superfeatherweight title coming soon.

If I'm not mistaken these WBA Super titles are supposed to be defended (they haven't yet) against the WBA champion (hope your all following - i.e. Tszyu should have to face Harries within a certain time frame). Is this what happens with the WBO belt once you make 10 defences.

Also where is Calzaghe's, Michaelswecki's, Nelson's etc Super belt.

Any idea what's going on.

That sucks...

More unnessecary belts added to the equation making things all the more complicated for newer and younger fans...
God, I do wish for the days when there was only 1 World Champion to return. The days when you knew who was champion.

Also there are way too many weights IMO. Some weights separated by by literally 5 pounds...
