Why did the french Champion give up the belt?
Why does that seem to happen a lot at the moment.
the Ukrainian has already fought and lost for this title.
His last two opponents (after that loss ) were a guy who was 8-17-3 and a guy who had won 1.

I think Mezzache (WBC no.2) might be getting a shot at the WBC Lightweight title against Peterson now that Valero has decided he's moving up (again) to light-welterweight to fight....Peterson(the other one).
I haven't seen Kudriavtsev fight and you're right, he's beaten no-one worth mentioning of late but earlier on in his career he did beat Mezzache and stopped former european superfeatherweight champion Pedro Miranda.

i dont think it was a title fight as Euro champ gave up belt ! read today that murray sitting on his euro title fight as he ran the risk of losing it if things went wrong in usa , seems like 2 years ago but as Jamie Moore who had a similar long wait for his euro crack

i think shobox were on board.
anyway, originally murray was going to get both EBU title shot AND shobox - vs mezaache. then the lucky frog vacated, pulled out. probably will fight humberto soto for the vacant WBC title, given that edwin valero is now "champion in recess."
so for murray it was either the EBU title, OR the shobox date vs yank trier henry lundy. it was suddenly a choice and it looks like he's gone for the EBU title. i hope they get a deal to make the fight with kudriavtsev. kudriavtsev does have a win over mezaache (their first meeting).
it is a shame though re shobox. it is another time that for whatever reason murray has not been able to fight on that series for prospects. 1st time he was injured, next fewkes pulled out, then mezaache made himself unavailable leading presumably to murray not fighting the replacement.

I would have took a shobox date and tried to start building a name for myself.
European belt or not, American familiarity is something that you cant buy and shobox would have been a great platform for him to fight on.
Let hope it all comes good anyway.
Maybe someone else can fill that date if its still available ?

Murray simply has to be fighting more regularly. If he can win the European belt, great. But being European champ, and still not fighting is no good for him. Couldn't Hennessey at least loan him out to Hatton, who at least has TV dates? As a Manc, you can't help but think that Hatton could at least get the lad some much needed publicity.

that's a valid view. but it seems he had to make the choice, because again some guy pulled out. some of these european fighters are right arses; it seems they won't fight british contenders.
mezaache wil get bashed up in mexico by humberto soto on some obscure latin fury PPV show courtesy of "i can go against HBO" arum. that will be mezaache's reward.
hopefully murray will get more chances to fight on showtime. but i hope it isn't vs some nightmare southpaw like the guy who beat prescott (vazquez) or the guy who beat antillon (acosta). lundy might have been a good opponent to show off murray's offensive skills against. and it would have been good to see murray get some publicity and not be overlook in the media in favour of, say, mitchell, who has only been at lightweight it seems 5 minutes.
