I was ringside for that and although that was supposed to be the fighter Kieran Maher faced and he was pretty weak it was a pretty impressive performance for "Dill". His local paper even sent a photographer up to snap him so there must be interest in him down there.

I'm impressed. Dilmaghani looks good! Fast hands, and I was thinking he looked a bit like Amir Khan before the commentator brought it up.

very good fighter and as mentioned real nice kid. Think he had but 16 am fights tho, 12 (12-0) as a juniour and 4 (3-1) as a seniour, he started when he was like 12. And didnt fight for a couple yrs coz he was focusin on his education. I remember watchin him beating up adults so much heavier and bigger than him when he was a small kid about 13, everyone knew then he was somethin special.best of luck to him

Linked up with KK at CNP now and is looking to get busy on the lightweight scene over the next 12 months.

15.07.10

Emerging lightweight prodigy Alex Dilmaghani is looking forward to a busy spell inside the ropes over the next year, as he he looks to cement his ranking amongst the British scene. The Sussex boxer has not fought since dissecting Johnny Greaves back in April this year, on the Hatton promoted Denton Vassell vs Lee Purdy undercard.

"It's all a learning curve at the moment and I'm enjoying experience. I'm adding to my game as I mature and gaining more exposure" said the 19 year old, who is currently holding down his fledgling career with a University course.

"But the rest of 2010 I want to get busier and busier and really start cementing my ranking amongst the British scene. With the backing of Hatton promotions I believe I can realise that, as they have given me their full support."

With the current scene dominated by the likes of European Champion John Murray and Kevin Mitchell, there is a dirth of talent beneath the top dogs in the form of Lee McAllistair, Alex Arthur and Gavin Rees. Even further down the list are emerging talents such as Liam Walsh.

"The British scene is in good shape at the moment and I'm still maturing. I respect the likes of what the others have achieved and appreciate it's no cake walk to get to their position in the rankings. But I'm a real handful already and once i've finished sharpening my tools on the Hatton shows I will be cutting through the rankings like a razor. "

Alex was recently buoyed by the help from former Hatton nutrionist, Kerry Kayes, who has agreed to assist the fighter with nutrional products and advice when he might need it.

"Man it's tough to keep the training going, plus studying for my degree and then trying to eat properly. But the CNP drinks have been a blessing. I'm very focused on nutrition anyway - and with the guys at CNP on my side, I'm feeling stronger already." Said Dilmaghani.

"I do lightweight easy enough any way, but nowadays I think I could even make Super featherweight. But I think in time as I develop physically, I will maybe end up at light welter."

Alex Dilmaghani will be fighting on the September Hatton shows. More details to be confirmed.
