Tim Witherspoon to fight highest bidder

Not sure if there was a thread on this a while ago, but did everyone know Tim Witherspoon had offered to fight the highest bidder at an EBF event in Wrexham?

To be fair I think it was down as an exhibition... but still, old Tim is still in shape and doing the rounds (so to speak).

Would anyone on here fancy a crack?

id go for it , just so i can say ive either beat a former world champ , or if and probable most likely out come , i was laid out , at least theres no shame in losing to terrible tim , as someone that hasnt boxed since my amateur days 14 years ago .

Im currently hoping though to get tim on my august show , but he told me its dependent on his son securing a pro uk bout around the same time , as is what also happened with his wrexham one.

The highest bidder?

You mean you'd have to pay to get twatted by an ex-champ heavyweight boxer? :KO:

Like I said above, its down as an exhibition, although my gut feeling is some smart arse will pay and fancy a go. Im sure at 52 Tim, who looks fit, will have enough in the tank to stop them in their tracks.

I dont care how old he is, I bet his right hand still feels like a sledgehammer. I wouldn't fancy taking a shot off him..

Reminds me of the first contender series when some fairly low level boxer (kadour of something) was sparring with Sugar Ray and desperately trying to take him out. Sad to see people try and take liberties with guys that would have destroyed them in their prime

Well said, however I reckon anyone who tries to take liberties with Tim would get KTFO :bag:

Unless the highest bidder is a skilled competitive boxer they will get laid out unless Witherspoon goes easy on them. 52 or not, the former heavyweight champ of the world would destroy any "tough guy" no matter how much younger they are.

Tim is a genuinely good guy, and way too savvy to be taken advantage of. Even if some tough guy tries to take the piss, he's too canny and skilled to have to resort to chinning the guy. He will just make him look stupid and make him miss. It will probably be some well-meaning middle aged local businessman who will be out of puff in 30 seconds anyway!
