Leon Spinks continued the spiral down hill as he fought to a draw against against Eddie Lopez.

Bernardo Mercado won by TKO against Ernie Shavers in a great 7 round battle.


I always thought this would be an interesting daily thread. Nothing too spectacular for March 8th, but a solid night of fights in 1980 to be sure.

There was a bigger one today that is documented in misery all over the front of the board.

March 10th was the epic brawl with Hagler & Mugabi.
