The ESB irish thread is a good place to keep up on irish boxers but dont say anything bad about bernard dunne or they will run ya!rocky2010 wrote:its good to keep up with the irish fightersBarry big balz wrote:He is meant to headline a brian peters card at the end of april or may in ireland , no opponents have been mentioned yet. I also said matthew macklin would be beat by pirog which i still stand by..... i shouldnt of brought up nationalitys when i discuss boxing and i apoligise for that but the guys on that thread including yourself are incredibly biased towards certain boxers you have to admit.ESB irish thread is great for irish information but i wouldnt discuss irish boxers with irish boxing fans on that thread.slapbangwhallop wrote:actually they ran you for a lot more than that!Barry big balz wrote:The ESB irish thread is a good place to keep up on irish boxers but dont say anything bad about bernard dunne or they will run ya!rocky2010 wrote: its good to keep up with the irish fightersD

BBB, said he would walk if anyone asked him to - everyone asked him to!
I wouldn't accept that they are biased at all - I would say that 80% the posters on the Irish thread on ESB said that Cordoba would stop Dunne and there wasn't anyone that gave Dunne more than a 50/50 chance and I doubt if anyone ever said Dunne was in the top 3 or even 5 SBW in the world - they aren't biased about Dunne - they are balanced towards Dunne.Barry big balz wrote:I also said matthew macklin would be beat by pirog which i still stand by..... i shouldnt of brought up nationalitys when i discuss boxing and i apoligise for that but the guys on that thread including yourself are incredibly biased towards certain boxers you have to admit.ESB irish thread is great for irish information but i wouldnt discuss irish boxers with irish boxing fans on that thread.slapbangwhallop wrote:actually they ran you for a lot more than that!Barry big balz wrote: The ESB irish thread is a good place to keep up on irish boxers but dont say anything bad about bernard dunne or they will run ya!D

I don't find it confusing at all, its a technicality exploited by some fighters to advance their careers. Good for them. Certainly doesn't make them British. If the rules say its ok...Barry big balz wrote:I never said anything and the rows break out...... fighting for both irish/british titles does cause confusion on nationalitys everyone on both sides have to admit.
Thats the way i see it too, everyone knows its good to be irish in the boxing buisness and fighting for a british title will get you on sky and that means your into at least a couple million viewers livingrooms in the uk (great exposure). Its just sometimes when you see a fight call himself irish after one fight then call himself english in another fighter i lose a little bit of repect for them.... Nothing wrong with being british i have froch only 2nd to abraham to win the super 6 so dont get this rant twisted.JamesH wrote:I don't find it confusing at all, its a technicality exploited by some fighters to advance their careers. I've never heard Macklin say this. He calls Brum home but says he is Irish - I have never heard him say he was English or British.MrBoxingUK2 wrote:are you talking about macklin? because i have heard him say that several times that he is english 1 day then irish when he fights over thereBarry big balz wrote:Thats the way i see it too, everyone knows its good to be irish in the boxing buisness and fighting for a british title will get you on sky and that means your into at least a couple million viewers livingrooms in the uk (great exposure). Its just sometimes when you see a fight call himself irish after one fight then call himself english in another fighter i lose a little bit of repect for them.... In that case, I'm Irish.slapbangwhallop wrote:I've never heard Macklin say this. He calls Brum home but says he is Irish - I have never heard him say he was English or British.
On that issue - I couldn't really give a flying Seany McBride if a fighter is Irish, English or Namibian - however, if a fighter states that he is one nationality then that should be respected. If a French Moroccan says he is Moroccan not French then thats cools with me - if a fella from East Belfast says he is British not Irish that is cool with me but also if a fella born in Glasgow, Manchester, London or Armagh says he is Irish and not British then that should equally be respected. Its not hard really is it!
If you really mean it then fair enough - somehow I doubt, it but I wont put the boot into you because you've shown how you act when gall has the gall to have the craic with you!Asterix wrote:In that case, I'm Irish.slapbangwhallop wrote:I've never heard Macklin say this. It's ridiculous for me to say I'm Irish, because I'm not. You don't choose which nationality you are. I completely disagree with your viewpoint.slapbangwhallop wrote:If you really mean it then fair enough - somehow I doubt, it but I wont put the boot into you because you've shown how you act when gall has the gall to have the craic with you!Asterix wrote:In that case, I'm Irish.slapbangwhallop wrote:I've never heard Macklin say this.
