Yeah- but it depends if the fight lives up to it.

It seems that the more "pre-fight needle" there is, the more dull the actual fight is.

Smith-Quigley wasn't great, Broadhurt-Haskins likewise, less said about Small's last fight the better.

Then take fighters like Sykes and Morris who just get on with the pre-fight warm up, and it's a cracker!!

I've nothing against "WWE style" build ups, but the bout needs to live up to them.

Very harsh on Dodson. Tony was done by a subtle, but perfectly placed body shot from Froch. He didn't "choke", he got winded and that was that. Dodson gave it a good go in the short time his fight with Froch lasted.

Does Paul Smith actually beleive he'd do any better against Froch :??

Dodson to me is very limited. He comes forward and works away without much finesse. Smith is basically his nightmare style. Smith is a boxer and from what I've seen can move around the ring well. is he world class? No, but he's solid at domestic level and would do a better job than Lockett did when he was happy to take his knee and get out of the pavlik fight.

I think Smith should win the fight. I can see him landing on dodson at some point. He really should focus on the body because we know Dodson is weak there. But I am sure Smith knows that himself.

i think smith stops dodson. Dodson has been stopped 4 times out of his 5 loses. If he loses, it's usually by stoppage.

smith has been labelled a brawler who smothers his own work in the past,he was forced back against quigley & proved he's boxing skill's are decent against a slick stance switching underated talented fighter in quigley.

dodson likes to boy opponents off by putting himself on a pedestal, as this great fighter waiting to happen & smith hasnt had a bar of it he's acting the confident champion & wont be talked down by the deluded CHALLENGER who i think is begining to realise that's what he is.

I'm looking at Dodson's record and wondering what he had done to merit a shot at the title or what the hype is about. He's lost 5 times, hasn't beaten anyone of note, his last fight was almost one year ago.

So other than being a scouser, I can't see the justification in him getting this shot (yes I know it's a voluntary so probably him being a scouser IS the reason why he's getting the shot).

That fight was a good honest domestic clash - neither fighter is remotely world class and its time people realised that.

Spud has posted a reasonable opinion hasn't he? It can be argued that Smith is domestic level - there can be arguments made for and against but there are certainly arguments with weight in the 'for' catergory.

Dodson spoiled a lot. I still think Smith can go well beyond domestic level. He's got his best years ahead of him.
