i watched somethin about it on youtube and he mentions the fans, itv and bbc but to me he says he wants to give somethin back to the fans,he's charging £2.99 per show well i think he is ripping the fans off and he will start other channels to follow suit then this will be the end of boxing, its hard to get people into boxing now as it is because it isnt on main stream tv,as for mentioning itv and setanta wtf does he know about these channels he never boxed on either of them then he starts on box office to me he is just trying to line his own pockets even more. if he was for the fans why does he charge fans £20 to have his picture taken with them at his stand up nights? isnt £40 plus million enough for him? for the fans my arse

Seems you can't please some people ! If it wasn't for the internet shows like this would never get any coverage. I reckon the boxers & the fans will enjoy having the cameras there. At least it is a lot cheaper than Sky. Ricky's hardly going to make millions out of it is he ?

Everyone is welcome to their view but I should point out that £1 from every viewer is going to the Help for Heroes charity, so that can hardly be called Ricky lining his own pockets can it ?

he is definately not lining his own pockets... apart from the other 2 quid !!

ricky may do a lot for charity, but its down to individuals if they want to contribute. we already pay for sky sports, we pay for tv licence...hatton knows that, but still wants people to dig deep. if it was for the fans then it would be on terrestrial tv.

money grabbing bar steward.

fornicate me, some people are never happy. Nobody is forcing you to pay for the show. £2.99 is hardly unreasonable for a show, considering the only other way you'd get to see it if is you stumped up 30 quid (or however much it is) for a ticket.

I cannot believe anyone is complaining about this. I doubt Hatton will make any money out of this at all. Remember he has to take people to film it, commentate on it and the cost to stream it.

To be honest when I heard about this I thought it was a great idea we only get to see a fraction of the fights which take place over a weekend in the UK . There are many boxing fans all over the country so why not provide another avenue with which to watch boxing .

Fair play to Ricky .

£2.99

Its fornicate all when you consider you pay £3.50 for a movie on box office or £7.50 for a trip to the cinema .

+1 What about all the money he has lost doing the shows, he has wages to pay and equipment. £2.99 is peanuts FFS.

Well done Hatton

Don't forget all the free shows he has put up on his site. Of course he will make money in the end and so he should, It is a business after all....

What else could you buy for £2.99 ? Its nothing really if you really like boxing. The only problem is that it is Mother's Day - but luckily she says she'll watch too !!

he has to pay wages and stuff but he knew this before he came into promotion and tickets are meant to pay for this and he has had fighters on sky tv which was either on a bidding war or his own show,if it was a bidding war and he lost the other promoter pays for the wages but if it was his show and on sky then the money sky pay him would cover all the wages and he would get the gate so its not like he is losing out is it. i cant believe people are saying crap like this hatton has gotten greedy and i dont like it i wont be buying any of his shows

Excellent idea - why on earth should the Hatton's pay for the overheads out of their own pocket - or are we stating boxing fans are a charity case in their own right? - of course not!! - the bills have to be paid and things do not come free when streaming these shows on the net.

Not just Hattons lining their own pockets, this is a 1st team show mostly.

Think its a great idea for £2.99 cant complain and it gives some of the local lads a bit of exposure, should be a good day, i'm off up there now :TU:

I think its a great idea £2.99, lots more shows should be like that, its gives the fans a chance to watch shows up and down the country, and no boring studio chat when we prefer to watch boxing, secondsouttv.com do similar with subscription, but more worldwide

"IF IT WAS FOR THE FANS IT WOULD BE ON TERRESTRIAL TV"

Mate, where have you been?? Terrestrial tv don't want boxing on!!

I don't get why this is a problem. You don't have to pay it, go to the pub and buy a couple of pints with the money. (dunno exactly how much a pint costs as i dont drink!)
With the production costs and staffing etc they don't make anything on it.. lets be honest, how many people subscribe to internet streaming?

These are small hall shows, basically giving the young kids a bit of exposure.
I was looking at doing something similar but for the costs, for something decent production wise it wasn't really viable for me at the time.
However it is something that unfortunately will become more widespread if fans are going to get to watch the shows as tv are reducing coverage. Coverage of small hall shows, away from the big name promoters is virtually non existent at the moment and maybe for some of them this way is beneficial for marketing their boxers?

Hatton promotions have invested hugely, and at the moment are running at a big loss
