last night a friend of mine who isn't really much of a boxing fan started saying that Pacquaio right now could beat David haye. He also thinks that mayweather will Ko Mosley in 2 rounds because Mosley has a "glass chin". He has previously said he thought Bernard Dunne would outclass Ricky hatton and beat him on points.

Basically he has no concept of weight divisions. I used to argue with him, but I just let him have his opinions.

Seems to know what he is talking about to me.

At the very least he is taking a bit of interest.

And as for Pacman beating Haye? Maybe he meant outside the ring? I would bet my worldly possessions on the Pacman smashing Haye to pieces outside a controlled contest!

I find allot of people who don't follow boxing don't get the weight divisions and cant understand how there is more then '1 world champion'. I have tried to explain to friends about the different organisations within the weights. LOL

explaining the weights susch as super middle was fun once they thought you got promoted from junior middle to middle to super middle on acheivment

yeah it often hapepns that a 5.67 guy weighing 11 stone beats up a 16 stone 6 foot 3 guy....jesus..ive heard of nuthuiggin but this is ridiculous.

A close friend of mine who enjoys boxing and should know better claimed it would be more enjoyable if we just let them fight on for as many rounds as it takes , till one of the fighters gave up through exhaustion.

Whenever discussing Calzaghe he will always bring up the time when Calzaghe beat Benn and Collins...... not realy sure where he got that info from . I just went along with it at first so as not to embarrass him infront of people but now hes been going on about it for so long that i just agree to save another boxing debate


One time while trying to get my girlf to stop watching bloody "Location Location Location" she replied with " well i never get a chance to watch anything with you watching all that KFC ( ufc ) stuff all the time .

Didn't someone on this forum say they could beat up Joe Calzaghe?

When I turned pro and was unbeaten in 4 the questions asked at work was when you fighting Ricky Hatton, Calzaghe was mentioned and I'm only a light weight. In the end i told them i retired

yea i remeber that and the 2 guys on the forum starting Mailing each other about meeting up for a fight at some Tyre yard or something , something along those lines anyway

It was when Hall apaprently offered Calzaghe to step outside

Didn't Duran once get asked about Ali and he replied along the lines of "outside a ring I would kick his ass"

I would. I'd keep my guard up and tight and go down on the first contact (would I get the million if I went down after we touched gloves? ) Then go and cash my million!

This is one that still makes me laugh to this day, The guy posts on here too. I can't say his name as he'd never forgive me

I was taping my hands just before training this day, My friend says to me.. "Why are you taping your hands like that" I said "cos it helps to protect them and that's how it's done come fight time" He said "No it's not" I said "It is trust me mate this is how they wrap me hands" he then delivers the money shot.. "But that's not how they do it in the Rocky film"

I still cry laughing now, I wouldn't mind but he's a bright lad when he put's his mind to it.. Righthook is a good lad.. ;;-) ;;-)

I remember being up in the corner with Julius when Tyson entered the ring, all the music blaring, crowd screaming, emotions buzing, celebrities everywhere, and I was thinking 'I dont feel scared or nervous at all', then I thought fuk it, I aint fighting him, my mate is..........

Would that class as a a foolish comment, as I said the story to Julius when we went out on the town after!!!

On a more serious note; it' semantics really in a boxing contest controlled or uncontrolled I'd have to agree: but if your uncontrolled contest is an anything goes fight and I do mean a brutal no rules tear-up between two skilled boxers; I would never bet on a result based on build and stature alone unless of course the big man was Audley Harrison i'd bet all day on an aggressive little man taking his beer money off him in a pub car park
If you've got speed, skills and a killer instinct size don't mean that much IMHO
