I think Kevin Mitchell is going to get knocked out

Katsidis to spark him around 8 or 9. I just think his mixing in a higher class is going to tell in this one. Plus I would assume he is naturally the bigger man....
Opinions?

Im edging towards Katidis KOing Kev, but I expect the ring to be huge and Kev to try and outbox him, can be done. Kastidis will take some stopping.

My guess is a cuts stoppage, with Mitchell taking it on the judges cards.

i think Katsidas Power will come through
he has mixed at a much higher class
Mitchell would be best to box the same way he did against Prescott
although dont think Katsidas will allow him to do that.

I agree with Gazmac, I think Katsidis will win but Kevin will acquit himself well and lose on points. I just feel at this stage Katsidis's pressure, power and strength will take over down the stretch with Mitchell getting the better of the early rounds. Katsidis is just such a tough SOB, he walked through everything Escobedo threw at him and just outworked him. Granted Escobedo is no Julian Jackson but he's no powerpuff puncher either.

I feel like I'm selling Katsidis short here, but I think Mitchell is going to do a number on him. I think Mitchell will be able to mix it up on the inside and get on the move when he needs to. Katsidis is going to be asked to eat too much leather and will find the task too much. Mitchell will potshot him on the way in and choose when to plant his feet and trade. Katsidis certainly has the better resume but its been a tough career for him and I think Mitchell is going to be too fresh, probably stopping him late. This one seems to have opinion split though but I'm expectign a good fight whatever happens.

I have a hard time seeing Mitchell beating Katsidis on points, his work rate's hard to compete with. I don't think the strategy he used to beat Prescott applies here.
Mitchell needs to do damage in there. If he's losing rounds early on, the work he does get in needs to be hurtful so he at least gives himself a chance of working with an easier, less composed target in the latter half of the fight.
It's a 50/50 fight. I could see it being a 12 round grind as easily as I could see either man KO-ing the other. Both have decent engines and both have a hard dig. Katsidis has shown more vunerability, although he's competed at a much higher level. It's going to be a telling fight for Mitchell.

If Mitchell wins this one do we think that this is a Better Result than any of Amirs so far?
Seems Katsidas will be a far more lively opponent than Khans opponents have been.
I know its not a competition but you can bet Mr Warren will have comment on it

yes most definitely, even if khan beats malignaggi, a win over katsidis is better

I cant see Khan getting much Credit if he beats Malignaggi as the British public will just think of him getting totally outclassed by hatton.
The Americans will probably appreciate it more though and think thats what he wants.
Both good fights though long may it continue.

I think Mitchell eeks out a hotly disputed decision.
Katsidis of 07 would stop him, but he has taken a fair few since then.
As for how a win against Katsidis stacks up against Khan's wins(assuming he beats Malignaggi)it's Khan for me.
I think Malignaggi would beat both Katsidis and Mitchell, by a fair distance too.
The Khan-Mitchell thing is interesting. I have always rated Khan as the better prospect and better fighter but his chin evens it up somewhat.
Anyone think they will ever share a ring? I can't see it myself but stranger things have happened.

he's had 28 fights :!: he's done his apprenticeship :!: he could of had more testing fights which would of stood him in good stead, learning nothing putting over bums.
but in his fight v prescott he showed the maturity, patience, composure franks been looking for as his talent is unquestionable :!: the boy is so at home with tibbs its bringing out his best.
title fights arent supposed to be guaranteed, the people on here saying its too soon are the people that were saying he aint being pushed enough easy fights etc.

i am still slightly nonplussed as to why, bearing in mind Mitchell's never fought anyone in Katsidis' league, people are so confident in him winning.
Mitchell outboxes Katsidis. apparently. Casamayor- albeit a very faded version- struggled mightily to outbox him. with all that skill and experience. but Sugar Ray Mitchell will?
i suppose i do get yiddo's point, that probably Katsidis of 07 and now are different animals. but Katsidis has actually 'refuned' his style- just a little bit- since then, becoming a bit more cautious and less easy to outbox.

i fancy mitchell aslong as he dont get to hyped by the support, katsidis is a gk & i dont think he'll slow mitchell down, i see mitchell winning pts or late stoppage due to damage.

Mitchell for me.
Can outbox Katsidis, who is fairly one dimensional. I cant see Mitchell trading with him and standing in with him, I see him jabbing and moving hitting without getting hit.

I see Kevin putting in his best showing to date! I see him beating Katsidis.
On a slightly different note, there was an interesting article in BN recently about Mitchell. Did not know he nearly went bankrupt!

Same here. Mitchell outboxed Prescott because Prescott has very slow feet & hands & was convinced he could land one shot & end it. Katsidis' problem is that he gets tagged too cleanly 'cos he doesn't move his head when he punches -- over-commits to attacks, sometimes with his eyes closed --
not a lack of speed. He throws ten times the number of shots Prescott does, he's at least as strong inside, he's got much faster hands & feet & more variety, ingenuity.
I would be
seriously impressed if Sugar Ray Mitchell managed to outbox Katsidis, particularly if he takes it as easily as some on here have him doing it. I'm off to look at the Katsidis-Escobedo fight before making a pick, though (the Aussie's been in some real wars, so I want to see how fresh he looks).

Oh, & whilst I'm at it: Khan has not beaten Malignaggi yet. So his best win by far is still Kotelnik, & having established that fact could I have some of what you lot have been huffing if you think Kotelnik could A) beat Katsidis or B) get anywhere near beating Casamayor.
Utter, unadulterated drivel, imo. The Aussie would beat Kotelnik up, & whilst I think he'd get messed about by Paulie, is certainly better than anyone Khan has beaten to date.
