That is a shame, sounds like he had a tough life.
R.I.P Neville
Here's his title win over Gordon Ferris.

Neville was 1974 Commonwealth games heavyweight champion for England. (In Christchurch) So though he was known as a slugger with a big punch - he was also a good boxer with decent skill.
Rockape to the core. From reading former RAF regt gunners talking about Big Neville - he obviously was loved and respected by everyone.
A proper man and a true gent - RIP big man.

Neville was a huge puncher and a lovely, lovely man, the kind of beaming, gracious, dignified man every son would want for a father. I had the privilege to watch him fight at the NEC in Birmingham in 1982 when he bucked his usual trend and came through a six-round war with American Rick Kellar. (Neville usually ran out of steam if he failed to win early.) Kellar came back a year later to fight Funso Banjo and told me that he was so tired after the Meade fight, he had to be dressed by his cornerman, the infamous Bruce "The Mouse" Strauss.
