This guy is one of the most avoided fighters in britian and is very excting, anything has got to be better than frank maloney's last show and that so called liverpool grudge match between smith and dodson the week before

Won't be unless the Small-Webb/Hatton-Branco fights run short. Remember Joe Murray has a big fight and Sky will want to show that.

He's already lost to Thomas McDonagh, Denton Vessell, and Brett Flourney.
Think that tells you enough.

I see that on his record Brett Flourney stopped him, i read on here a few times that No One wants to fight him 15k has been offered to anyone that can beat him etc was just wondering what was the big fuss...

Doubtful any other fights will get shown as theyre showing Small Webb and Hatton Branco both live, and if so i expect they'll show Joe Murray.

True, but these were well matched fights* early in his career.

We don't know how much notice he had etc.

Sure, I agree, it suggests he won't ever be a World Beater, but I can see him being in some interesting fights none the less. A few early losses don't rule out him as a force at British level.

*Which is a good thing.

He hasn't fought anyone with a winning record in his last 4 fights and has a promoter offering stupid purses to beat him.
I hear Matty Hall would take the fight no problem at all. As said earlier on, look at the fights he's lost. Vassel, Flourney & McDonagh. All 3 would beat him again.

For sure, he could be in some good fights, and he has won several fights in a row now. Other people less "deserving" have been given title shots.

But what is he actually allowed to fight for?

I MC'd his 9th show, in Scotland, first time I'd met him. He was 4-4-0 going in, so I asked him before the fight, "Do you want me to read your record or just say, competing in his 9th contest?"

He smiled and said in his Moroccan accent, " Just read the record, I got nothing to hide, three of them losses were robberies!!"

He is a real character and a pretty exciting boxer. I defy anyone who meets him not to like him.

Thats always a factor, as an "opponent" boxer, he might not have got a "fair go."

Anyway, flip this doo-doo.

Lets see him face off against a decent domestic opponent, then we can have a better idea.

Well, this will be an interesting one. I'm sure the ref will be concerned about stopping it potentially too early if there is that much money at stake on his decision. If El Machi is hurt, I really hope the ref or the corner doesn't allow the fight to go on just a bit too long.

Lets cross our fingers that this fight is reffed by one of our best.

Be fair mate, are you really serious with the above quote?

Paul Smith is current British champion and was defending his title against a bitter local rival who has been involved in a few belters.

Martin Lindsay is a quality propsect who was defending his strap against a brave fighter who had deservedly earned his shot by ruining the unbeaten record of the highly spoken of, Akash Bhatia.

Maloney's undercard also featured current and former British champions and Olympic Bronze medallist David Price.

As a fan, would you rather watch the above or would you rather witness a decent fighter who is enjoying good publicity due to good promotional work. El Maachi has done nothing to earn a shot on Sky and to claim he should be on there instead of the aforementioned shows is laughable.

Yassine is a decent fighter. He was well over-matched early, he was in with Bonsu in his 2nd fight (he also had him down twice I think). I do think he'll go past Euro class but I do believe he could beat McDonough and Vassell now

am i the only person that thinks there is a chance that he may get stopped? fighting a guy with 19 ko's from 21 wins! granted those wins would have been against no one but yassine has been stopped before!

looks like 19 to me. fair enough those were in africa and he did lose to mcmillan but there has been greater upsets. I do think yassine will win but is it inconceivable for him to lose?

Bit of crossed wires here.

Coco is right- http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer This is Aloa, the guy we have been talking about.

The other guy linked to is also down to fight Yassine..
