Nasty punch...But it was a beauty!!

Bad result for Froch...Abraham's going to be going for the HUGE KO...Froch now needs a win against Kessler on foreign soil...Abraham is still my pick!

Abraham was exposed as a limited fighter last night.

I really can't decide about this. It looks as if Dirrell starts to appeal to the ref as soon as he gets hits before slumping over - appeals then decides it would be better to feign a ko? a la Rivaldo vs Turkey for delayed reaction.

Maybe I'm being harsh, he could be genuinely hurt but its hard to tell and he's done himself no favours by being a running little bitch previously. People will automatically think he's looked for an easy way out.

I guess only the fighters will know how serious it was, AA seems surprised that he's "out" but he will of course plead innocent - as any other boxer in that position would.

Still, its a foul and a cheap shot. But if Dirrell has feigned the KO then I reckon it would've just been a pt deduction for AA and then who knows what happens from thereon in?

why does dirrell always seem to fall over when he gets cornered?

did it many times vs froch and should have been thrown out for negative tactics.

did it vs anthony hanshaw in the opening round.

hope he's not damaged but i'm amost glad he got twotted doing this. to me, it's like wlad klitschko holding then turning his back. hopefully he won't keep on doing this.

abraham was coming on and could have won that fight late, if only he'd have controlled himself. ah well, killer instinct.

not necessarily as he was taking on a terribly akwward opponent.

dirrell was exposed as a terriified runner vs froch, which to me is far worse.

all the super 6 guys will be doing good performances and bad performances. the bad performances are typically coming away from home. hopefully froch can buck this trend vs kessler in denmark.

I have never seen a boxer "slip" as often as Dirrell

Dirrell boxed masterfully, he wasn't running this time. And his power is underated, not often you see Abraham think twice about coming in, and getting backed up repeatedly

I think people are still seeing the negative things about Dirrell, yep I can see the justification but was he warned? I think he would have stopped when he got a warning, like he did when he got a point deduction against Froch. Sure its not the most "pleasing" way to frustrate a puncher like Abraham but after 8 rounds Abraham already needed a KO (why don't people comment on this) so why not use some frustrating tactics if its not getting penalised.

Really? 'Cos I was really chuffed that that fecking boring Armenian got taken to the cleaners, dropped (should've been twice), confounded all his nuthuggers who go on about him "being made of steel" by bitching about low blows as if his groin started right round about his nipples, & finally loaded up a desperation illegal shot when he couldn't change the pace of the fight any other way. All this by a "runner", a guy who fights like a "coward". Pretty amazing for a girly-girly-man to beat up the big tough nasty pressure-fighting man's-man for ten rounds, eh?

But maybe that's just me.

PS: Dirrell goes down that often because he has long gangly legs. Duh. Trying to turn it into some kind of veiled macho thing is sad, even for you.

Because there is a shelf-foreheaded subnormal macho element that populate Boxrec who think it's teh ghey to do anything to actually try & get out of the way of a punch.

what a hysterical outburst. poor dirrell, forever a victim. may have been a "slip" this time, but often he looks for the mat voluntarily, gangly legs or no. what a shame he got hit this time!

i'll tell you what's sad. calling someone a "fecking armenian."

Give Dirrell an oscar - the guy is a f****** disgrace.

The way he sat up, scratched his head, uttered some words before deciding to then lay back down and close his eyes, before then pretending to twitch - well that was straight out of the WWE for me.

The first half of the fight panned out exactly as everyone thought. Dirrell winning the rounds against a static Abraham in the centre of the ring.

But the round before the DQ, the writing was on the wall. You could see the way Abraham was starting to mash him up, Dirrell was ready to start wilting.

I feel really bad for Abraham i really do.

His low blows got ignored - then when he had Dirrell in trouble the referee DRAGGED him off to see the doctor and then completely ignored his knockdown which was shit.

Abraham was heading for the KO win and Dirrell's bitch-like moves erased anything he'd done previously in that fight.

Crying in the ring, what happened what happened ?? oh dear.

At the end when they asked Abraham what he thought of Dirrell he said "Good Actor".

If anyone thinks Showtime are not completely bias for the Americans then they need to go specsavers.

pretending to twitch.

It was Abraham who disgraced himself..... He said "good actor" AFTER he claimed it was a legitimate KO and that he caught Dirrell when he was still up. Was the doctor an actor also?

He soon changed his tune after he saw the replay.... from he was still up when I caught him to "I didn't see he was down" and then "good actor".

Firstly it was a legitimate KO shot from Abraham, then it wasn't a KO shot at all and Dirrel was just acting.

Abraham is a one punch KO artist and he caught a defenceless Dirrell flush. People react in all different ways to being KO'd. Remember the claims that Etteine quit against Tyson cause he pulled out the gumshield.

I just hope and pray we don't have another "McClellan has quit" type senerio here - cause I am worried about Dirrell.

let's hope dirrell doesn't kneel down in front of apuncher in future.

roy jones and barrera have also done this to opponents, though i am not condoning it.

genaro hernandez was ko'd by an ageing azumah nelson after the bell, got up, had his break, and won.

i get the feeling dirrell will always be the victim, and that he won't win the super 6.

Sorry, I'm not saying I don't "understand" why Abraham did this.... killer instinct and all. The DQ was fair and just - no further punishment should be ordered. I did think his post fight interview was, in some ways, worst than his actions as he tried to claim he didn't do anything wrong - and then when it got shown to him.... tried to shift the blame to the "actor" Dirrell. I'm glad he has now wished him well though.

What I am a little surprised about is the negativity towards Dirrell...... I think the guy was seriously hurt and I was alarmed at his post fight appearance. I just hope he is going to be okay.

it was no act..... the result was justified.

i called a dirrell victory a good six weeks ago, abraham, although a huge puncher, does little else when he fights except hold a high guard and look for the honey punch.

its a good result for the super 6.. its now wide open !!

I'm sorry, where did I write that? I wrote "fecking boring Armenian".

Here:
Datsue wrote:fecking boring Armenian
You can tell where the stress of the swear-word lies, by its position in the sentence. In this instance, the fecking refers to how boring he is, not where he is from. Armenian is only in there because, well, he is. I shall try to remember not to mention nationality at all in future. I trust that you will refrain from using such touchy phrases as "Yank" & "Mexican" as well?

Were I to call him a "fecking Armenian", yeah, that might have been a bit off. But I actually didn't, so I can't see what your problem is. I know we don't really see eye-to-eye, but in this instance I think you're a little adrift there.

I thought this. Against Froch, when he was trapped on the ropes, often he'd just fall to the floor as a way of getting out of a difficult situation. He did it a couple of times against Abraham too, because he was in big trouble in the tenth. Also Abraham had been complaining a lot about getting hit low.

I've just replayed it back again and again.

Front the camera angle BEHIND Abraham the glove don't even connect, but scrapes past with the thumb... certainly no knuckle shot.

And has anyone seen a guy knocked out cold... who find a couple of seconds to sit up, mutter some words of disgust, before then laying down and beginning to twitch ?

Another thing i noticed was several at ring side calling him and fake and a cheater.. Dirrell shouted back "i'm not a cheater" before blubbering into tears.

Abraham is now wrongly convicted as not playing fair - yet Dirrell is the joker here.

Sure he swung a late one in as Dirrell *suprisingly* looked to fall over, but this is a piss take.

Anyone would think Abraham knocked his head clean off into the audience, Tua v Ruiz style !

American tossers.

I came off a motorbike at Rockingham a couple of years ago, no serious injuries but I did take a whack on the head and felt groggy, eventually got myself together and about 15-20 minutes later collapsed - much to the amusement of my mates who thought I was taking the piss at first - and needed oxygen before a visit to the hospital to check me over. Anything can happen with a blow to the head.

Did the punch even connect properly? If a big hitter like abraham connected with a clean shot you would expect the force to cause dirrells head to jolt in the direction of the punch.
It doesn't, his head doesn't even move

Different angles of the punch. Click

Not sure about the episode - but what i do know, is that Dirrell boxed rings around AA, and has now beaten both him and Froch.
