Middleweight has always been a good division for Britian and Ireland
Who is the best we have to offer?
This is DG.

How do you know how good or bad Jamie is going to be at middle? I think the weight will suit him better. I think he will beat Macklin for the European belt and he will definately go on to fight for a world title.danh wrote:barker the better middleweight of the bunch, moore wont win a world title at middleweight he isnt good enough at midd, macklin will also beat him if they ever box again.
bloody hope so, matthew has always had the talent, and his last 3 performances have been outstanding. when is he next out? hopefully 1 more figth and a ibf title shotDeno1986 wrote:Macklin, world champ in 2010
Well, Karmazin is due a shot at the IBF title first after winning an eliminator against Dio Miranda recently. Wouldn't be surprised to see Macklin - Lorenzo as an IBF Eliminator in May/early summer. Mundine will probably go the WBA route as he is their NO.1 Challenger so that rules him out I'd say. Sylvester is definitely right up Macklins street.MrBoxingUK2 wrote:bloody hope so, matthew has always had the talent, and his last 3 performances have been outstanding. when is he next out? hopefully 1 more figth and a ibf title shotDeno1986 wrote:Macklin, world champ in 2010
I think the vote swing will depend on his peformance on Saturday. I think a solid win will even it out - he has beaten Macklin before and I think we all want to see a rematch!terrdilk wrote:I picked moorsey although he hasn't boxed at the weight yet we all now how jamie fights an I think the extra 6 pound will make a massive difference an we will see a fresh new fighter come sat night. I didn't really notice hoe big he was up close how he used to make light middle puzzles me because he is massive testiment to how he lives for the game I think to shift the Amon of weight he does.
I agree to a point, Elcock is one that should not really be in there - but the other names are known by all and Eastman is 'Eastman' after all.stujones wrote:Well some of those in the poll shouldn't really be considered.
I think the likes of Martin Murray and Craig McEwan should be considered above Eastman and Elcock. What about Duddy and Lee?
Well for me its Macklin for the moment.
seen as you have included Macklin maybe you should have included Duddy and Lee as well - especially as Duddy has recently beaten Eastman.Square Ring wrote:I agree to a point, Elcock is one that should not really be in there - but the other names are known by all and Eastman is 'Eastman' after all.stujones wrote:Well some of those in the poll shouldn't really be considered.

Square Ring wrote:So limited he beat Eastman and is rated above Eastman, Elcock and Murray in the BoxRec ratings. Not visible in the UK? 6 of his last 8 fights have been in Europe, 6 of them in Ireland with two fights in Ireland in the last year - all available live and for free on RTE with a free and legal web cast and Lee is rated above the guy Barker is fighting for his European title. Lirva, it sounds like you just watch SKY's FNF for your boxing.slapbangwhallop wrote:seen as you have included Macklin maybe you should have included Duddy and Lee as well - especially as Duddy has recently beaten Eastman.Square Ring wrote: I agree to a point, Elcock is one that should not really be in there - but the other names are known by all and Eastman is 'Eastman' after all.
Possibly, but I think we all know Duddy is fairly limited..All the other names (Bar Elcock) are Top European/Fringe or World Class in the eyes of most and Lee is not really that visible in the UK.
I thought about responding in more detail, but calling me Lirva ia a bit low.I do not have RTE and am sure a majority on here do not. Duddy is limited and hopnestly I have not seen enough of Lee to say too much, but what I have seen is he is not a world class fighter, slapbangwhallop wrote:Square Ring wrote:So limited he beat Eastman and is rated above Eastman, Elcock and Murray in the BoxRec ratings. I'd be confident to say that he would lose more than he would win!diggler wrote:barker for me he beats
