I'd have barker top 20 myself. Unbeaten British & commonwealth champ.

I'd have Magee above Hatton too. Former British now european.

I would have Darren Barker above Mathew Hatton. And Junior Whitter is a bit too high, not fought in a while.

Magee so low? No Andy Lee? No Andy Murray? No Paulie Hyland?

One Carl's sparring partner, the other went life and death with him,so you rate them?Yet Dirrell beat him(in everyone outside Nottinghams opinion),and he's a joke. You need banning mate.Your turning a knowledgeable forum into some sort of propaganda machine to make your mate look good

In all fairness, Darren Barker is a great talent and imo deserves to be in top twenty, maybe even higher. Brian Magee is the supermiddle Euro champ so regardless whether he is Froch's mate or not, they are perfectly good points to make.

Smith has to be on the list. All the other British champs appear to be in there.

Barker hasn't fought since November, so he has fallen a number of places since then with other British fighters winning European titles et cetera and overtaking him. If Barker wins the European title this month then he will climb a number of places.
G0mez wrote:I'd have Magee above Hatton too. Former British now european.
I want Cook to fall down the rankings fairly quicky as he has been inactive over a year now. So, I put Matthew Hatton one place above him when I entered him.

Not bad points,i agree, its just the reason he pointed them out.Nothing against Barker or Magee, just GOmez's agenda

Barker will most likely move above M. Hatton if he wins the European title this month.

Witter has been inactive for a while due to an injury. Witter is one of the few current British fighters that has been successful at World level, so I am reluctant to have fighters overtake him unless they are somewhere close to that level.

slapbangwhallop wrote:Magee so low?
Magee was inactive for over a year before he won the European title, if he had stayed active and defended the the British title once or twice before winning the European title, then he would be quite a few places higher.
slapbangwhallop wrote:No Andy Lee?
I entered Lee into the rankings in December after his win over Belghecham, but he has since fallen out. When Lee fights again he will probably re-enter the list.
slapbangwhallop wrote:No Andy Murray? No Paulie Hyland?
Murray has decent wins over Fagan and Rasilla, but I don't think he has done enough for a place on the list just yet.

Paul Hyland does not deserve a place on the list at the moment.

I have the same gripe with it as I did last time. Andy Lee should be ahead of both Barker and Duddy as he has beaten better opponents. You are overrating M. Hatton a little bit.

Also, why not just call it British and Irish Top 30 p4p. It's incredibly arrogant and insulting to Irish people (what with history and that which I won't get into) . I mean, it's not difficult to do, why be so stubborn about it? If I made a top American p4p list and then put in British fighters with "British" in brackets next to the British fighters you would think "WTF? why not call it American and British p4p instead of just American implying that Britain is some sort of region of America. Can you not see how disrespectful it is? I like the fact you go to the trouble of making the list and you are a great poster but that thing you do really gets under my skin.

diggler wrote:hatton is far to high imo
Matthew Hatton? I think Matthew Hatton's position is okay, I certainly don't see him as being far too high, as he is the European champion. He dominated Branco, who is a decent European level fighter, and he drew with N'dou, who recently had a close fight with Malignaggi at World level. How much lower could he be?
diggler wrote:barker to low
Barker's opposition has not been the best and he hasn't fought since November. If he wins the European title then he can move up, but at the moment I think his position is okay.
diggler wrote:id have smith in it
I was going to enter him this month, but I changed my mind. I still don't think he deserves a place in the list above the likes of Haskins, Olusegan, Napa, Sexton or Simpson at the bottom of the list.
diggler wrote:munroe to high
Munroe has been the European champion for over two years and is ranked in the World top 10 by the Ring. I don't see why people think he is too high. How many other British fighters have been operating at European level or above for the last two years?

Smith always seems to struggle against his opponent and his fights tend to be messy and ugly.

It is nothing personal, but I just don't rate him very highly at the moment.

He was cut badly in his last fight, and lets face it Quigley really speaking didnt come to fight, more to show his love by holding quite a lot. you can only beat whats in front of you and Smith has done that. i think he should be there.

Yet, I wasn't really impressed by his performance.

Perhaps, I am being unfair, but I still don't consider Smith as being better than the guys at the bottom of the list - Haskins, Napa, Simpson et cetera.

If he defends his British title again then I am going to struggle to keep him out, but I don't think he is currently beating his opposition as convincingly as he should be to claim a position in the list.

His opinions on both fighters position in the rankings are not unusual. Other people have mentioned that they consider both fighters positions to be too low, so I don't think that G0mez's comments on their rankings are worthy of contempt.

You think Froch is a joke? I am not from Nottingham and I thought Froch won by a few points. I haven't read all of G0mez's posts but I have never considered him as a likely candidate for banning. I think you are being unfair to G0mez with your comments.
