George groves, according to BS, has said after he beats Adamu he will knock out Paul Smith, British champion. To qoute Groves exact words:

''I watched Smith and Dodson last week and thought it was a poor show for the talent in the country. I would beat Smith tommorow. All Smith is going to do is hold and bore people to death. I reckon i'll knock him out.

he's got to beat adamu first, this kid is trying to run before he can walk, being badly guided i feel.

you dont disrespect fellow fighters until they dont want too face you,& why will smith be intrested in a kid with a big mouth :!:

groves should concentrate on adamu as for his comments on smith how would he react to the cuts he sufferd smith would be to much for groves at this stage

I think he should show a bit more respect really. Smith has shown he has some good skills and also shown he can dig in when he has too. He has far too much experience for Groves at this stage. If he wants to move on fast though maybe he should go for people like Dodson or Quigley for example who would be great tests but have been proven a level just below Smith.

Its just disrepectfull,i liked him until he started this sort of shit,same with Witter,Fury,Froch,etc...Lets hope (or not) that Booth has learnt his lesson in getting Haye beat up early on and does not rush him.Smith was a Commonwealth silver medalist(more than George did),and is now British champion and has this kid going on about him???
Stick him in with Quigley,should be easy to make.Maybe thats the problem though,Quigley would take the fight,even giving weight away,he knows Booth and Fwank arent going to agree on terms to fight Smith or DeGale so can say what he likes knowing he doesnt have to back it up

I admit, he has no respect, but I like guys that trash talk, it livens things up. As for weather or not he could beat Smith I dont know. You cant judge Groves for good or bad on his first eight bouts as they were against, for want of a better word, bums.

But I hope Warren stops matching Smith against scousers and puts him in with someone such as Groves. I wonder if Warren will put DeGale in with Smith? So many questions, so few answers.

smith said hes done with scousers, he should win the british outright vacate fight magee for the european and the hopefully stigletz for the wbo at the echo smiths got nothing to prove against the like of groves and deglae

It's all bravado at the moment.

Degale and Groves aren't at the same place as Smith right now. They have barely turned over!

If Smith does ending up fighting either it shouldn't be for a while yet and I suspect everyone concerned knows this.

It's not about what who has to prove against who. It's a quality fight that many would watch. Many more than Dodson.

its a lose lose situation for smith if he loses he'll get stick but if he wins everyone will say grove or degale been pushed to quick

Should be you in there anyway to be fair, no way Adamu beat you. Cant wait for someone to start smacking Groves back, he is good attacking wise but u can hit him with your eyes shut, these journeymen have been catching him already!

Couldnt agree more with you there mate. I really rate Groves, but make sure you learn who you are as a fighter before making your name of others

credit where its due, he boxed with a busted jaw & won & degales style in the ams was de-gold

i expect paul to fight kenny anderson next then magee & maybe paul david b4 magee to own the lonsdale belt.
david is way over due & deservant of a shot & anderson has been in line for a while & was lucky last time out & smith can shine v these guy's.

i rate groves & believe he has the potential to be the best but very bad management & guidance, he is not only trying to emulate haye but almost mimic & impersonate him which is embarrasing & will lead to a rude awakening.

Right now there's a few i wouldn't fancy Groves against, never mind Smigga.

Smith comes on here and is sound... but gets quoted as a bit of an eejit, IMHO. Groves when I've come across him has been sound, but again here comes across as mouthy... I think people are reading too much into it, all these things are just the fighters trying to boost their image, and blimey if Groves' name is out there that little bit more as a result.

back to the subject in hand, i feel that groves beats smith, its just my feeling, and sat night we will know a lot, because if george can stop adamu, then he really is going places.

i feel groves is getting some bad sh1t on here, people seem to be treating him like he is a complete gobshite like anthony small, but george is just talking the talk, and hoping to back up his jibes in the ring...

he is hardly stating that he could beat a peak ray leonard, hagler or hearns is he.... he has said he thinks he will KO smigga !!
