you can get 22-1 on bet365 on Ruiz. Decent bet. Haye should win but those odds are too wide.

Hayes defence is shite. Hes tryin to pot shot but hes not putting anything together. Hes an average boxer with a big punch. He should have stayed at Cruiser as I see him getting banged out again pretty soon.

Based on this evidence, Vitali would put a serious hurting on Haye

Good performance by Haye ... not a brilliant one.

He was against Ruiz after all. Not convinced he`d come close to beating any of the K-Brothers.

Ruiz as has been shown in the past, cannot deal with speed.

7/10

Ruiz was game as anything....but is old and far from a great or big heavyweight (he spent a lot of his career at cruiser.)

I think Vitali would embarass him. Wladimir, unless he got caught early, should do so as well.....

Good win. Stoppage was coming and Haye never looked in trouble against a fighter who has always been a handful.

I still back Haye to have a very good chance against Wladimir. Haye is all wrong for Wladimir.

Vitali would be different though.

Hats off to John Ruiz, he's had a career to be proud of, and a credit to what it means to be a fighter!

Haye "still looks a bit worrying" he might have been coasting(arrogance eventually brings a fall), or he just might not have the finishing tools to lead the division - the Klits are no more greater worry than any of the other top men (giant S-HW's to their advantage), but busier just as strong powerfull fighter/punchers might prove too much for Haye... we shall see!

70s and 40s HWs clean up, not much too compare!!!

Well, although that is an exagerration, the ref WAS very easy on Haye...Imagine if it had been in the US and the other way round, with Haye getting hit in the back of the head and in clinches, everyone on the British scene would've been going crazy

I think the rabbit punches that led to knockdowns were out of order from Haye but overall he did the job that was needed although as Adam Booth said he left his chin hanging in the air a few times and would have got KTFO by a faster stronger puncher then Ruiz

All respect to Ruiz for staying in there for 9 rds, he may have been the bane of the Heayweight division for the last 10 years but all props to him even though at 38 he has nothing left to give boxing apart from Gatekeeper status.

This was a BULLSHIT defence though...people have to remember that the only reason Ruiz became a Mandatory to the WBA belt was due to a technicality with the scoring for the 2nd Ruiz Valuev fight(a fight the Giant won comfortably) and the spineless WBA caving in to john's lawyers by giving him Mandatory position rather then telling him to F.O.

Haye needs to fight CHAGAEV next to legitimize the belt, a belt that Ruslan never lost in the ring.

ruiz looked old & got slower as the rounds went on, he done unreal to get up from the early knockdown i thought haye looked wobbled end of the first coming off the ropes.
he really knocked the stuffing out of ruiz tonight & could of forced a stoppage at anytime if he wasnt so damn lazy, which will cost him against other young heavies.
what haye done tonight you would expect from a world class heavy & he proved himself there & has big big power.
