im back folks with yet another hypothetical, fantasy match-up. well guys what's youre takes?

two relentless power punchers with great head movement. i see frazier taking this one. he would weather the early tyson assault with his great head movement. frazier would work tysons body with the left hook all night. frazier wins a late KO in the 9th or 10th round.

would be a great, entertaining fight.

Tyson would be dangerous early, might even drop Joe. After the fourth round, Mike meet woodshed.

there would be a possibility tyson could take frazier out early. foreman took him out pretty early. tyson has power in both hands and an aggressive nature. its 50/50 for me now that i think about it.

A small one, Frazier bobbed and weaved into death defying uppercuts from Big George. Joe would be up under Mike's chin and tyson wasn't an accomplished in fighter. Somebody with tyson's power can't be totally dismissed. I'm willing to go more along the lines of 80/20 or 90/10 frazier.

Tyson has to get him early or not at all which is a distinct possibility. I suspect if they fought each other in their primes Tyson would be a small favorite.

If it's after the FOTC I'm with the Tyson advocates.

Before the FOTC...I would back Joe heavily.

Tyson in about 2 rds. In his prime his punches would be too fast, accurate and hard for Frazier to survive for very long.

See Tyson vs. Marvis, it might last a bit longer but not much.

Yancey is not going to like that.

Frazier all the way, I think he would have the upper hand mentaly.. Frazier was destroyed by Foreman , but the only thing alike between Foreman and Tyson is that they both punched hard . I see Tyson coming out like a storm and Frazier meeting him in the middel of the ring forcing Tyson back with his superior in-fighting and breaking him down eventually. If Tyson doesent land a bomb before the 4th hes pretty much done for....

P.S : Im offcourse extremely biased :D Frazier is one of my all time favs

Fraziers one of my favorites also, but Tyson had an excellent uppercut and probably would have been able to land it solidly enough to get Joe off his feet. I'd make Tyson a solid favorite.

Getting Joe off of his feet and keeping him off his feet are two different stories. I'd love to see Mike's face after his best shot resulted in a 2 count.

Well that's why I only said he could get him off of his feet. It's what would have happened after that that makes it interesting.

My bad, I assumed you meant he would stay there when you said Mike should be a solid favorite. If he doesn't stop Frazier early, he can't win imo.

I think it's a pickem. I think folks overrate Tyson's liabilities not that he doesn't have any.

He's not going to fold the first time Frazier hits him. And Frazier is a notoriously slow starter and Tyson's a fast starter.

I'd make Tyson a slight favorite but if Joe could get past the first 5 rounds I think he it would be Frazier by a late round tko.

To answer the topic question, this is a scary fight for a Frazier fan like me.

Peak, mega Tyson was an awesome force and I would be very nervous watching the first several rounds. Joe would need to stay tight to the inside.

If all goes well and the fight gets into round 4 with Frazier in decent shape, then he ultimately rips Tyson's lungs out and destroys his heart. The fight ends somewhere around round 8 or 9.

This is another fight (just like '69-'70 Frazier vs '73 Foreman) where I think Joe has a viable chance of ultimately prevailing but I would not bet any serious cash on it.

People don't watch the first Foreman-Frazier battle closely enough. If they did, they would be surprised to notice just how many of Foreman's punches either miss the target entirely, or graze a dodging Frazier.

Basically, Tyson has power approaching Foreman's for raw brutality. We know this. What we also know is that Tyson's hands are infintely quicker, & his delivery of punches much shorter, & the punches themselves far, far more accurate. Tyson doesn't have Foreman's leverage, this is true, but I see him as just so much more powerful than Frazier up-close (in the early going). I can't see Frazier getting out of the way of Tyson's shots (for all the punches Foreman missed, he still landed enough to close the fight in a matter of minutes), & there's little doubt in my mind Tyson's power would traumatise Frazier, left to land hard & often.

Like I said, though, I would sincerely love Frazier to win. He was the better man in the most meaningful way possible, & Tyson losing would require him to get a drawn-out beatting over ten rounds or so --- the type he had coming all his life.

Tyson is a heavy favourite for mine, but I sure would cheer for Frazier.

The only thing Marvis and Joe shared was a last name like Rahman and Muhammad.

That being said it was usually boxers that confounded Tyson not swarmers/presure fighters.

What type of swarmer/pressure fighter did he ever fight? Holyfield flung him around inside like a rag doll. That wasn't Mike's prime, but the vast difference in their physical strength could be telling.

Holyfield was awesome on the inside , not by hitting his opponent but by using his height, body strength, and leverage to outwrestle his opponent and prevent him from doing any damage. That's how he frustrated and beat Tyson. In what fight did Frazier do that?
