Can the mods on this site please please please put re-insert the post by Mr McNeilly please?
Good job we ain't married Ian as I could expect to come home and find my clothes in shreds following your discovery of my affair with Danny Flexen. Quite dramatic aren't I but it was you that started the bitchiness, thought I left that behind when me and my girlfriend split up.
Let me tell you all a bit about myself,
www.merseygloves.com was born last September by myself and Stephen Speed. Since then we have been at the forefront of providing coverage for the entire Merseyside boxing scene. All the names dominating the landscape such as Bellew, Dilks, Dodson, Flournoy, Selkirk and Smith have featured on our site and all have agreed that the job we are doing is a fantastic one.
We have provided more amateur coverage of our local scene then any other website or publication and this is widely congratulated by the boxers, coaches, officils and parents involved. Ask Damian Ridpath and Alan Lynch whether they think I'm an "Ambitious Snake," that comment was undeserved Ian as I find myself to be a hardworking individual who has a genuine passion for the entire game.
How many reporters/writers/journalits this year can claim to have attended more shows then me in 2010? I'll tell you now that there's not many who can. Every regional Schoolboy event, Every NACYP event in the North West, Every senior ABA round thus far, every single club show put on in Liverpool this year apart from one, Bellew and Smith in Newcastle, Craig Lyon in Altrincham, Martin Murray in Stoke, Nick Quigley and Ste Jennings in Bolton (where I also endured a 90 minute train wait in the freezing cold,) The Pride of Merseyside extravaganza that included about half a dozen media workouts. All this whilst having a full time job, not possessing a driving licence, and still trying to maintain some steady relationships with those close to me. I have not received one penny for any of my efforts and have not once asked for financial rewards. To accuse me of being ruthless and stabbing people in the back to get somewhere quicker is wide of the mark and totally out of order.
McNeilly's resent came from the fact that I approached Mr Flexen at the David Dolan/Rob Norton show and enquired about doing some pieces for Boxing News Online. I had produced one article for Ian/Boxrec News which featured Derry Mathews, I also sent Ian another two features focusing on Mick McAllister and Martin Murray but they somehow dissapeared and never made it onto the site.
Ian emailed me recently ranting about my defection to BNO and I admitted that I didn't handle things in a proper manner and apologised for doing so. I told Ian that in hindsight I should have been more open about doing bits for BNOand that I didn't go about business in the correct way. Incase he never received that email like he didn't receive my two articles then IAN, I APOLOGISE FOR NOT LETTING YOU KNOW IMMEDIATELY THAT I WAS GOING TO BE CARRYING OUT FEATURES FOR BOXING NEWS ONLINE. IT WAS OUT OF CHARACTER AND THERE WAS ALSO SOME EMBARRASMENT ON MY PART IN REVEALING TO YOU THAT I WAS GOING TO PRODUCE WORK FOR A COMPETITOR. IM SORRY.
Also in that email I stated that I still found Boxrec News a wonderful site and also wished him and his site all the best for the future, I explained that writing for BNO was too good an opportunity to turn down and I hoped that we could both move on. He also explained thatit was ok for me to place merseygloves news on Boxrec as he claimed "we are bigger than that." Obviously not.
You have my email address and if you PM me Ian then you can have my phone number too as it's completely obvious your not over me yet. If you want then I can arrange for a photo of myself to be sent over to you that you can keep in your wallet so it can get you through the lonely nights. In the meantime, I hope we can still be amicable, at least for the kids.
